Disposable gloves?

I like many others don't like emptying my tanks without using disposable gloves. I have a box mounted on my rear bumper to store all my hoses and other items used for the "fun " part of camping. Problem is the gloves don't last long in the box. I buy a box of 50 at the time but after using a few they break when I put them on. Anyone know of a brand that may last the whole box through?

Disposable Gloves

I have been using the vinyl gloves from Harbor Freight. They have lasted more than one season.

There are all kinds of "rubber" gloves made from all kinds of various elastic material. Nitrile is one of the favorites, some have powder in them etc. You need to find something that works for you IMO. I went through about 5 different boxes of "rubber" gloves trying to find something that didn't tear, would go on without fighting them for 15 minutes etc. I don't remember what kind they are because they are in a box in the storage compartment. I do know that HEAT will destroy the elastic properties when left in a hot environment for very long. I bought 4 boxes of one kind of glove and put it in my shop during the summer. It can get blistering hot in there if I don't turn on the AC, which I don't unless I'm working out there. Went to use a pair of the gloves and the finger popped off. Next pair the same. Went through sets of gloves in all 4 boxes and I could just pull the fingers off. I attribute that to the heat.

Try to find ones that are higher "MIL" (thickness). I buy heavy duty disposables from Home Depot. They are very durable.

Use nitrile gloves and buy a bigger size. I usually get the large or extra large so they go on easier.

The 7 or 9 mil gloves from HF in XL work well for me, but I usually use the heavier and longer, rubber dipped, gauntlet gloves that are cloth inside for those heavier duty, nasty days. I also have a pop top can of disinfectant wipes as an insurance measure.

I use to get gloves from medical facilities and they were fine but usually too small. Now I buy them at the grocery store and just get the extra large so they go on easy and don't rip. I didn't always use them but need to now so I do.

^^^this. The blue nitrile ones from HF work well for one time use dumping. The heavier black ones are good for a dirty job. Their mechanics gloves aren't too bad for the price.

I agree with the blue nitrile disposables from Harbor Freight. They are 5 mil and are perfect for working on sewage components. The 7 mil are good for automotive work like brake jobs and tire handling. At $8 per box with 20% coupon, it's a good deal.

Agree with all on nitrile gloves. The "white" latex gloves won't last in the box.

I get the 7 mil from HF. Before and after every trip I spray the handles with disinfectant and only where gloves when setting up/tearing down the hose.

Bought the black mechanics gloves at NAPA. They last a long time and I usually throw them away because too dirty rather than worn out.

Try storing them in a small well insulated cooler to protect the gloves from extreme tempature changes. That should extend their life.
