>>It would help if you shared the year and full model name/number of your camper. Without that information your question is analogous to asking " what size tires should I put on my car?"<<

I was referring to the "Cougar 23MLE" in the Title of my post, sorry. And I don't own one yet, currently shopping for one.

>>I agree. The front edge of the slide (regardless of RV model or manufacturer) is suspended above the floor when retracted in.<<

Ok, so even with slide fully in (in a Cougar 23MLE) is sounds like it not good to use the theater seats. Although Saturday when I asked my local Cougar dealer salesman this same question when he was showing up a brand new 23MLE they just got in he put the slide in and and sat in the theater seat and told me "Its fine...see! You can use the theater seats with the slide in."!! lol

Well, there is still the dinette to use for quick stops, so its fine. Another one of the reasons I like the 23MLE.

Many sales people are clueless. If a sales person did that in a unit that I was considering buying, I would call him/her out and pre-emptively request a warranty note on the unit in the event the slide has an issue down the road.

Directly from Keystone:
BEFORE OPERATING ANY SLIDE-OUT:
3| The RV must be leveled and stabilizer jacks extended.
8| DO NOT ride in the slide-out when extending/retracting
9| DO NOT step on the floor of the slide-out when the room is retracted. The slide-out floor is not supported by the main floor and stepping on the floor may cause structural damage to the slide room.

It is a VERY bad idea to ever listen to a RV salesman....ever. Do your own research and due diligence and know the answers before you ever ask because 99% of the time, whether it's technical, structural, operational etc. they have no clue - but they most assuredly will say "something"...wrong as it may be. And for sure don't ask towing questions because they have no idea.
