Second battery

We have an avalanche 395BH. Can you add a second battery? Thanks in advance!

No reason you can't. But will you need to change battery location for the room needed for the extra battery? Will you be comfortable changing and rerouting wiring if needed?

There should be plenty of room in the cargo area for both batteries. Be sure to use a vented battery box so you won't have to deal with the battery gasses coming into your trailer.

And both batteries should be the same age. Dont just add 1 new battery, get two at the same time.

what bruce said, and I'd suggest 2 - 6 volt batteries rather than 12 volt batteries.

make sure you connect them correctly.

You might consider buying a large 200ah AGM battery... KISS... Do away with a vented battery box and no need to buy larger vented box and cables to connect multiple batteries...

My AGM batteries in my camper and boat are vented, and that's because I bought them with standard batteries. I have seen new boats that have AGM batteries that are not vented. These are similar to the batteries that are in UPS power backups that are used for computers in your home sitting right by your desk.

AGM Batteries. A VRLA battery (valve-regulated lead–acid battery), more commonly known as a sealed battery or maintenance free battery, is a type of lead-acid rechargeable battery. Due to their construction, they do not require ventilation, can be mounted in any orientation, and do not require constant maintenance.
