We've been mowing our property next door. Finished up and told DW "well, at least they won't be throwing us in jail for the tall stuff". She looked at me like I was dense and told me "they have TP in jail"..... So, if worse comes to worse, look on the bright side as she is and think of the positives

For those that like Jimmy Buffet (it IS that time of year you know), here's a little tune that will remind you of him......and our situation;

Edit: I had heard this song but not watched this video through before posting. I did not know it had a few political satire pictures in it. I did not post this as any kind of political commentary; it was just a funny song. I anyone takes offense let me know - it was not meant in that manner.

Here's a link to a cdc youtube video - kind of appropriate at the time...

Yeah - sure - Mr. Site Team member - you didn't know!
Glad to see that your "sense of humor" is in such fine shape.
After all, no one has really been harmed by this hoax - er - pandemic - right?

Well, yeah, I did post it without watching it completely. The song was forwarded to me via email messenger and I couldn't find a way to attach it so I googled it and posted the google results on the forum. The one sent via messenger had the guy that sang the song singing it, not all the little pictures. Watched the first few seconds of the one posted and saw nothing but humor so posted it - clicked on it after it was posted and saw the little political pics - determined that since, hopefully, thinking folks understood this situation is not brought about by any political party, and in fact is being handled in a rare bipartisan effort by both parties, that those pics were more in humor than anything else.

I'm not sure what your issue is since the thread is about spreading a little humor. By your wording it appears you think that anyone not "hiding", "scared to death", "crawling in a hole" or spreading doom and gloom is instead making light of a temporary situation. I choose to look on the "live life normal" side as much as possible (yes, my humor is in fine shape) vs spreading it's the end of the world - which it isn't.

As far as "hoax" you might want to refrain from putting words in my mouth. I've posted on this subject before and if you will do your due diligence you will find I've never said, or inferred, that it is a hoax. Are people overreacting? Absolutely. Is that fact agreed to by most everyone I've seen/heard? Absolutely. Are there warnings everywhere about "hoarding" and panic buying? Everywhere.

Now, is this "virus" going to get worse? Probably. Is it going to kill the human race? Absolutely not. But still, let's keep things in perspective; 2018 stats; folks that got sick with influenza 42.9M vs 112,533 for coronavirus; deaths 62,200 vs 1,876 coronavirus. Could not find hospital comparables and they wouldn't be anyway since those testing positive are being hospitalized regardless of the severity of their symptoms. So you see there is a LONG way to go before we can consider this "situation" an immediate life or death, the world is ending, situation. Heck, people die all around us everyday from the flu and not a word is mentioned. Coronavirus? We know almost every single individual and their location if they even test positive for it, sick or not thanks to our sensationalized media.

So, lets keep this thread about humor, not politics or coronavirus fears - there's a separate thread for that and feel free to post there. If you feel politics and fear should be the order of the day I'm sorry.

“Follow to the quarantine recipes”
Now that’s funny, I don’t care who you are!
And sometimes a little politics sneaks in no matter how hard we all try to avoid it.

For a "welcome change" it seems that Washington is working together. The Senate voted 96/0 to pass the "relief act" and the House voice vote was overwhelming to pass that body.

This is not a "D" or "R" but a "B" (bipartisan) issue. Thank God that Washington is finally "acting like Americans" rather than "D's" or "R's".... Let's keep the forum working the same way, "together" rather than "trying to find ways to keep our distance" (or create distance where none exists).... There's enough "social distancing" with the virus, we don't need it on the forum to keep us separated.....

We are 11 days into self-isolation and it is really upsetting me to witness my wife standing at the living room window gazing aimlessly into space with tears running down her cheeks. It breaks my heart to see her like this. I have thought very hard about how I can cheer her up. I have even considered letting her in – but rules are rules. —Thanks to Tom Hart!
