3750FL AC/Furnace zoning.

Our new to us, 2013 3750FL has the dual zone Dometic setup. I am having an issue with the zoning. It seems, after some testing that the temp sensor for zone 1 is in the bedroom and zone 2 is in the control panel in the main area. Has anyone else found this? Is it correct?

Right now it’s 38 degrees outside and the thermostat is set to auto at 72 degrees. Bedroom is 72 degrees and the furnace is cycling as you would expect, but the living/kitchen area is a miserable 58! Is there a way to swap the two?

It seems wrong that zone two is the main area and only has control of fan, cooling and off, but zone one is the bedroom and controls furnace, auto, cool, fan and off.

Thanks

I’d take a look at the sensors and where/how they are wired to the thermostat. Would it help if the sensors were to swapped at the thermostat so they read the other zone?

It would help if they were swapped around. That way the furnace would cycle until the main area is at set temperature rather than just the bedroom.
Unfortunately, I don’t think I can do it as the thermostat is wired using a phone/internet style plug in cable.

I own a 2014 Alpine. The remote temp sensors are wired at each air conditioner electronic control module and provide temp feedback to that specific zone air conditioner control module..

In this case Zone 1 has the output leads to furnace and responds to temp set via Zone 1 setting on the thermostat.

In our 2013 3495FL, the thermostat for the gas furnace is located on the wall in the bedroom, and as a result the heat is not balanced rear to front. Our workaround is to use the fireplace, sans flames, and ceiling fan to heat the front room and dining/kitchen areas.
I am content to leave it as is, because if the front room thermostat controlled the furnace, the front area would get warm, but the bedroom would get too hot.
Cheers!

Our rig has the split system. The temp sensor for the bedroom zone is a small round plastic device on the bedroom ceiling. It has slots in it and the wire goes to the control box above the A/C vent cover. On ours, the bedroom unit is zone 2. The control box for the living room unit uses the actual thermostat as the temperature sensor. The furnace control wires go the the livingroom control box, so that unit is designated as zone 1. There are dip switches in both control boxes that set the zone designation that is seen by the thermostat. If you go to the Dometic web site, there are manuals for both the A/C units and the thermostat that will explain setting up the thermostat.
