Complete 100% on page with you. I just happen to work for a huge construction equipment rental company and we have a couple sister companies that manufacture equipment so have some pretty skilled engineers available.
If it looks like it is going to be an ongoing problem I will put the brakes on the repair and force them into a replacement. I have an attorney waiting in the background who has successfully made that happen with Keystone for a friends neighbor.
I was speaking to a lady on one of the Keystone pages on Facebook and between a dealership and the factory attempting to repair more or less the same issue her trailer was gone for 13 months and once they got it back it cracked again a couple hundred miles into the first trip...

100% spot on Chuck.
I am still boggled by the fact that Lippert has skated thru this since 2012 and nobody has pinned them down yet.

the crack is usually on the side out side of the camper...this has been happening for years. I had one on my old 2001 5th wheel but I just put some caulk over the crack.
but you have a newer one that should be under warranty...get it corrected now.

I am still a member of the Forest River forum and this issue of cracks near slide outs seems to have infected their many product lines as well. Interesting five year old thread from another RV forum:

I have the exact same year and model. With the factory pin box. And you guessed it the exact same crack.

I had mine repaired. I was very happy with the outcome. Email me and I will give you some pointers. Send me a PM and we can get in touch with each other to discuss the issue.

Hey how are you? I know this is an old post but wanted to see what you had to do to rectify this? I have a 2017 423 Fuzion and it is doing the same thing in the same area like yours. Thank you!! Dave B

Dave, click on the posters name of the left and bring up their profile and you will not that IM SYKO has been here for a over a month. This issue has been discussed in other threads so keep using the search function and you will actually find how some folks fixed this themselves. It often involves rewelding the frame if memory serves. Good luck!

The folks who are here are in the most part regulars or folks who have issues and are here to solve those issues and don't really come back or participate after the issues are fixed. We often get folks with issues that come for help but leave the thing hanging without follow up and these help no one. Hopefully you find your answers and stick around. Start a new thread and post your trailer year, make and model and some good pictures and this will go a long way to getting good responses.

And some ditch Keystone for another brand and still stay on. This is a great forum with lots of good people and info. Stick around and contribute when you can. Good luck with your trailer

Hello. I have not got it repaired yet. I was going to take it in a couple of months ago but the fake epedemic has delayed me. Camping world said this problem is caused by a water leak? I will update as soon as I get it fixed.

I didn't read all the posts, but yes. This is a very common thing. I've actually been told by salespeople to expect it. Some manufacturers actually cut and install a trim piece there as a control joint. I know jayco does, and I wanna say our fuzion has the control joint.

My Sandpiper from Forest River has the control joints on both front slides.
