How much noise from roof mounted Heat Pump?

We have a near by unit Montana 20th Anniversary edition with I assume a roof mounted Heat Pump or AC with heat strip. It seems to be a bit noisy, sounds like my 2016 Ram idling, but it isn’t. What is the normal outside noise level for something like this.

My main A/C vibrated like a SOB. They investigated and snugged up the 4 bolts.

Take inside cover off (whole thing, not just filter access) and check/torque down the bolts. I was amazed how just a tiny bit loose and it vibrated that much. Just a tweak and it was good to go.

They might have something caught in the squirrel cage causing vibration...on residential furnaces I’ve had furnaces vibrate so bad they could walk across the floor...it’s usually a piece of the old air filter or even a bounce dryer sheet ( put there for fragrance next to filter)..that gets caught in the squirrel cage and it will cause an imbalance

Ours is the Whisper Quiet (whisper is a bit of an overstatement). Our heat pump doesn't really sound any different than the AC. They don't sound overly loud like something is loose.

Since a heat pump is simply the AC running in “reverse”, it shouldn’t be any louder.

Ours makes as much noise in air conditioning mode or heat pump mode. But the heat pump does power up and power down it sees, where it blows harder and then hardly none at all, but the compressor is still running. Then when the coach reaches temperature, it shuts off completely, until it kicks on again.

The low fan is whisper quiet (outside and inside). The normal run sounds the same as the air conditioner running.

Now, when the furnace turns on, it sounds like a jet plane at take off. Are you sure you are not hearing the furnace. These newer furnaces are horribly loud outside. And its not just my camper, but camping in Alabama for the month of January this year, all newer makes and models have these furnaces that sound like jet planes taking off. It makes for a noisy camp ground at 6:00 am when walking the dog.
