To go back in time and have the cars we had when we were younger...who knew they would be worth so much. And I didn’t even have one in the golden era of muscle cars. I had a mint 71 Monte Carlo in 84 that the doors clicked shut like new.. glass so clean it looked like the windows were down

I wish I had that 1969 Roadrunner back.
And I sold a 1979 TransAm because of gas prices.
Heck I sometimes wish I hadn't sold that 2007 Corvette.
Don't be like me.

Ya, I wasn't exactly "sneaking up" on those "county mounties" One car I wish I'd kept was a 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Formula VEE. Rare as hen's teeth. It came from the factory with brown leather interior, a Hurst shifter with a reverse lock out ring and air conditioning! The paint was called "Signal Orange".
That little car would corner like a go cart. That little thing that I think I paid about $2,500 would be worth six figures today.

I sold it to my best friends Dad. Another impulse sale based on high gas prices. I replaced it with a Ford Capri. The first run of them that came in the US. Had a monster 1600 CC 4 cylinder. Nobody knew what it was. I told the girls it was a Ferrari. I don't recall that working in the much desired result.

I’m holding on to an old 04 ram Hemi .. just because I wish I held onto some of the older pickups I had when I was younger. Who knows if they enact stricter emissions and fuel mpg requirements then we may be in for a second era of muscle cars fading away. They have some really powerful engine combinations out today but could be like 1972 and 73 all over again and they all just cease production in favor of electric cars....although you can just about throw a beer bottle in any direction and hit a 04 or 05 ram Hemi 1500

I was just "price and build" a new Corvette. It wasn't as bad as I thought. I'm thinking high $70's for a LT3. Black on black. Showed it to my wife, she just grunted.
The new cars get good mileage. That 07 Corvette would get at least 30 on cruise at 60, flat road. I just saw what the new ones got but don't recall. Pretty good though.
I have ridden 1 time in a Prius. co-worker had one. It really surprised me with the grunt.

I was thinking about this in 2012. Had a 08 Escalade sitting in the garage hardly driven. And I thought I should be smart and by something timeless and collectible. Looked at a used 911 and test drove a 2012? I think corvette grand sport... even let my son drive it on the test drive. It was a stick Nice car pretty red color .....anyway I did what any sensible person would do for financial security and bought another boat for my son. He wanted to get his captains license and do charters. He did accomplish that but anyone knows boats are not a good investment lol....I’ve since pretty much come to my senses and the newest vehicle I’ve bought is just my TV which I got under protest

Man I’m gonna have to sit down for this one. That’s an impressive list of highly desirable cars. You could retire off of that list and then some

For instance I paid $500 cash for the '57 in January of '64.
The Model T was a gift because I drove two old men home in it every afternoon after I got off the school bus.. I was 11 or 12 and the owners wife gave it to me telling me that he wanted me to have it. So, that would have been '61 or '62
The 49' Plymouth I paid $75 dollars for in maybe June of 1963 and took my DL test in it on November 15th 1963. I remember because we skipped school and drove to Dallas to see President Kennedy on November 22nd that year... we were on the way home after he drove past us when we heard he'd been shot.
