Water heater
I have a 2016 Fuzion 345, the water heater is working perfectly on electricity but not on LP. I tested without the trailer connected to power, the switch on the heater is @ off, propane is on, the interior water heater switch on the main board is on. The heater will try with propane 3 times, I can see there is propane but the flame will not stay.
Am I missing something?
Is there another switch to turn on ?
Thanks in advance
François

Welcome to the forum :wlcm;
If the water heater flame starts and then quits in about 3 seconds, the issue is properly the igniter/flame sensor. Make and model of water heater will help.

My Suburban water heater did the same thing, except it was the main board. Mine was replaced under warranty. It's easy to replace but not always easy to get to.

Looked at his model on line (a sale) and it appears the water heater is on the driver side right behind the passthrough and in a box that can probably be opened that takes up part of the passthrough storage on the driver side so may not be too bad. Where is the board located on the water heater?

It’s on the back side. Igniter cord comes out at the lower right corner.

If you can get to the rod (flame sensor) that sits in the flame if it were to stay lit, pull that rod out and scrape it clean with a knife or polish with steel wool and reinstall. I have had to do exactly that many times on the residential units that I maintain.

I had this happen to my 1997 SW10Gallon just a couple years after buying. It was caused by the control electronic box located (usually) on top of the water tank. If you disconnect the box (usually easy to do) turn it upside down and look at the circuit board. On mine the circuits were burned underneath a small foam block. My theory is this piece of foam overheats the circuits. Take it off. I replaced the controller with one from State Trailer, and again removed the foam block. I mounted it on a thin block of aluminum (washers under the four mounts for about 1/3 inch clearance for air circulation. Mounted it back in place. Tested and it worked great. Sometimes I use both electric and Gas together, but usually use gas because it is faster. Cost was $35 I think. PS: I did go through the same checks you mentioned, replacing the ignitor with no change. This issue is posted on several websites as a "known problem" but they just don't say much about the foam block as the cause, but it is. Watched the bimetal switch with a DVOM and it worked fine. Has worked great for 4 years. Let folks know if this fixes your issue. I also start the propane water heater disconnected from the main electrical connection. After it is going I then connect to power with the 220 cord.
