sounds like the inverter and shore power are both live and on at the same time…no transfer switch wired in as sourdough eluded to

Tech said he "removed power from the AC in and AC out sides" of the inverter. An inverter has DC in and AC out. Also said when he disconnected those leads the power at the breaker then read 114vac on one leg and 115vac on the other. When he had first tested he said he read 120vac on each leg.

An inverter "might" cause a problem but the entire RV (new) will not have a lot wired to it even if it has one (it says SolarFlex 200 does not come with one). I'm finding it hard to figure an inverter sending 240vac out on one leg to the entire trailer when it's not even wired to it and the only backfeed would be to the batteries?? Something doesn't sound right.

If the inverter has “pass through” it will have AC in and out.

I haven’t looked at any new trailers with the solar flex and inverter installed. Current employer is a collision repair facility and we focus on that.

I am installing a Renology 2000W pure sine wave inverter in a GD Solitude this week and it only has 12V in and 110VAC out, no pass through so we are installing a transfer switch.

I think the first question should be, "Which Solar Flex system is installed in the OP's trailer and what inverter type is installed?"

If it came from Keystone with the Solar Flex 200, the inverter was not installed by Keystone, but by the selling dealer. That means they, not Keystone, are responsible for the wiring. If the inverter was installed incorrectly (miswired) it could be the problem.

If the traielr came from Keystone with the Solar Flex 400, then the inverter was installed at the factory and Keystone is responsible for the wiring.

So, depending on those circumstances, the "local dealer that checked the trailer" may not have any idea about how the selling dealer installed the inverter and may not have done any troubleshooting on the "not Keystone system".....

Lots more information needed to even start to figure out the problem. So far we don't even know if it's a pass through inverter with an internal transfer switch or a DC:AC inverter with an external transfer switch or a ACC inverter with no transfer switch but rather a plug to unplug BEFORE connecting to campground shore power (hopefully not, but).

there has been a few posts about people wiring inverters to their load center to power everything and they will “closely monitor” what is turned on at any one time so as not to overload the inverter…might not be an issue with inverter but that’s where i would start looking if it were me ..i’d disconnect the line voltage out of the inverter and start looking at further damage….i’m sure there are numerous little dealerships and shops that would install an inverter improperly because ““how hard can it be? “ i will just check youtube”

edit: Disclaimer:I would actually get an electrician to disconnect and troubleshoot the inverter/ rv wiring…( not the one that originally troubleshooted the problem)
always be safe and hire qualified professionals

Wasn't there a recall awhile back on the inverter feeding back through the shore line...

Yes the line in and line out were swapped. Thought it was only 2021 units

After spending the past four weekends rewiring both the 12 volt and 120 volt in my Avalanche I have come to the conclusion that no one at Keystone actually has a clue about electrical wiring.

So far on the 120 volt side I've found two 14 gage solid wire Romex stuck in the same 20 amp breaker.. Swapped them out to a 15/15 Duplex

Found another 12 gage wire just stuck in a breaker and the screw bound so tight that I had to just swap the breaker.. wire wasn't under the screw on that breaker.

that was a 20/15 breaker and the 16 gage wasn't under the screw either..

Can't understand how any of the circuits were actually working

Built/assembled in Amish country. What would they know about electricity? Or TV cables?

When I went to the Newmar plant for 3 days, it was pretty much all Amish. I got a kick out of an older guy working on a heated floor with a willie Nelson CD playing.
