Disable the Massage Chair

Has anyone looked into disabling the massage function from the theater chairs? I find the vibration annoying and not useful. Also, it turns on way too easily, so I often need to turn it off only to have it turn back on.

I'm fairly sure the solution would involve cutting a wire or two! I'm willing to that to exorcize the vibration demon from my chair. I would like to keep the heat, light and USB charging functions though.

BTW, on our last trip I noticed that a cell phone close to (not touching) the switch will turn on the vibration and heat.

Extend the chair and look for the plugs near the back. IIRC there is one for the recline and another for the massage.

Well, the vibration demons were exorcized but the job was a little more involved than I originally thought.

As chuckster57 recommend, I reclined the chairs and looked underneath, all that was there was plug for the heat.

So, I went looking the Massage plugs, I tipped the recliners forward to look underneath from the rear. No plugs there. I did notice on the back bottom of the chairs are flaps attached by Velcro. When I unattached the flaps, I founds plugs (2 per chair) for the Massage function. Simply unplugging them did the trick.

It went fairly well, although I did not notice that the chairs were screwed to the floor of the slide out a little too late. When tipping the chairs forward, I pulled out the screws. Luckily, I was able to screw them back into place. They were not really visible from the front. So, if anyone decides to do this task remember to find and unscrew them before moving the chair.

Thanks for the information I needed to get started!

For anyone else that is getting annoyed by how easy these buttons are to hit (our dog turns ours on all the time) here’s some guards that help prevent that
