Saturday musings..

First, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!

Second, diesel is firmly priced at $5.30 in my little scrappy town.

Third, Mickey Gilley passed away today. What a honkey tonk piano player. His namesake joint was within spitting distance of my job. I never darkened the doors for some unknown reason. The club was actually owned by Sherwood Cryer, a Shell welder and coworker. Supposedly a ruthless SOB. I was told by those that knew Mickey and his cousin Jerry Lee Lewis, that Mickey was a fine man and always supported the community he grew up in, Vidalia Louisiana I think. edit add: Natchez MS. Much unlike his cousin.
