Ditch the TPMS dust covers?

I purchased a Tymate TPMS system last year and am quite happy with it. The dust covers are a bit of a pain when checking tire pressure and inflating the tires. I was wondering if I can simply do away with them?

Never heard of that so not familiar with the brand. What does the instruction manual say? I would think if the manufacturer designed dust covers for the sensors and included them in the kit it was for good reason.

I find it amusing that they show a semi tractor/trailer rig on their site, indicating that this system could be used on them, when the maximum pressure rating of the sensors is limited to 87 psi. Wouldn't work on our rig with the 14 ply G rated tires inflated to 110 psi. I don't see any 'dust covers' in their literature. http://www.tymate-tech.com/sensor.html

The TYMATE website "products links" don't address the dust covers, but they are shown (along with the O-rings to seal the sensor battery compartment). You can see them in one of the videos here:

Here's a clip from that video showing all the parts that the user manual doesn't address... Typical chinese owner's manual as it appears quite a bit was omitted in the translation.....
