towel hanger

I have a 2022 Keystone Montanan Legacy. There is no good place to mount a towel hanger in the bathroom. The door is a sliding door so no over the door rack will work. Has anyone came up with a good idea for installing a place to hang towels? I could only find what appears to be one stud behind the toilet to screw in a hanger.

I hung a fairly narrow (my bathroom is narrow) above the toilet and didn't hit a stud. I think I used spring wing toggle bolts and the rack is very solid and will hold a wet towel and one of those shower caps gals wear and other things I can't mention.

I have a passage way door into my bathroom and my towel rack hangs over the door.

Will you send a picture of the towel bar (not the items hanging on it)

Went out to camper and snapped this a second ago. Our bathroom is a shade over 2' wide so the rack is less than 2' and would have been wider if space had permitted.:

I use these. They work well. We use Turkish towels that aren’t very heavy and dry quickly.
We don’t have much wall space in the bathroom with 2 sliding doors so these hang over the toilet.

No issue with them pulling off the wall and carrying part of the wall with them? How long have you been using them?

No issues. We’ve been using this type of hanger in our current and previous camper for 3+ years. We don’t travel with towels hanging on them and as I said we use Turkish towels. Lighter weight, dries quicker.

In our Montana there was no good place to hang a towel bar either. But rather than using a towel bar, we just used Command Hooks (the larger ones). One has a double hook, the second has a single hook. I thought we'd use the double hook for 2 towels, but that never happened. One towel on each hook. They've never come off the wall in over 3 years.

And oh.... the toilet paper holder? We never attached one to the wall. We use a kitchen paper towel holder that sits upright on a counter. Instead of putting paper towel on it, it holds 3 rolls of TP and sits on the floor beside the toilet.

But, we haven't used TP in 2 years now, not for "that" purpose anyway, because 2 years ago I installed a Bidet. TP comes in handy when the dog makes accidents on the floor though.

Ditto on the Command Hooks

We have used the large Command hooks like the one pictured since 2015. We use them in the bathroom for towels and in the bedroom for hanging coats. They are very sturdy. Haven't needed to remove them so I don't know if they will pull anything off the wall. I like the Command hooks because I don't want to have holes in the walls.

Towel hanger solution

We had the same issue in our 2017 Avalanche and solved it with a three towel option, which I mounted to the side of the TV framework. NOTE - the last user should always move the rods against the wall, to avoid others walking into the end of a rod. See attached pic.

The white foot, hanging on the top rod, with the red cord and white buttons is a Sock Dock. Very handy for washing/pairing socks.

In the kitchen, we use these and love them.

I installed a couple of these behind the toilet. They come in various lengths and the rods can also be cut to a specific length. They work great for us.

When I bought my Cougar, I planned to install a towel rack but put it off. In the meanwhile, we just draped our towels and facecloths over the top of the radius shower enclosure. Eventually, I concluded this was a superior permanent solution. It accommodates even a heavy, wet "bath sheet" size towel without worrying about whether screws will pull out, and they dry better with both ends open to the air. The towels remain sink-adjacent and handy. When we need to take a shower, we move the towels to the over-door clothes hangers on the bathroom door, and put them back afterward. They don't fall off on the road. You can even make them look neat and presentable if that's a thing for you.

What Scott said about the command brand was true for us. Inside 6 months the vinyl wallcovering was loose behind the hangers and I had to buy a veterinarian syringe and fill it with glue to fasten the paper back. Use them with extreme trepidation!

I’ve used towel rings on hollow walls with no issues.

I tried 3M Command hangers in our closets. Summer heat with something hanging on it caused them to fall. We have a textured wall which does give a good smooth surface to stick The Command hangers to.

Same problem with our Cougar. I put a tension rod up in the back of our shower, high enough not to be in the way, and I can hang almost 4ft of towels there.

I used a heavy duty wall anchor setting tool. There's several models out there, I purchased the Paick brand. Just drill a small hole for a wall anchor, and the setting tool will squeeze it into place. Then use the screw to attach your towel bar.

Here's something similar

We bought an IKEA towel bar. At the time it was something like $8; I'm sure it's quite a bit more now. It expands and can hold three full-sized bath towels. It also pivots and can fold up tight against the wall for storage and to get it out of the way.

Our experience with Command hooks has been disappointing. On wallpaper, or the thinly-finished porous wood inside a Keystone cabinet, they don't hold. On hard, smooth surfaces like tile or paint, much better.
