Microair Easystart isn’t sold only through Microair. I bought mine through Hutch Mountain for $10 less than through Microair.

It was easy and simple to install, about a half hour with instruction reading. Now to get the unit on top of the 5th wheel

You all are bad for my bank account. Your good advice has caused me to buy the EasyStart 364 and the Champion 2500 dual fuel inverter generator. :-)

Y'all have been posting about using the soft starts with generators. I was looking at getting them to be able to run both AC's when connected to 30A shore power. Am I off base here?

From what I have read I believe that you can.

BTW I got my Champion 2500 a couple of days ago did the break in stuff. Leaning towards the Easy Start. Going to the Ocala Show tomorrow hopefully there is a vendor there, it's not a real big show.

So in theory I believe it will. I believe this is how it will work...If you truly have 30A service you probably adapt this through a dogbone which will distribute the service to the two different legs of the trailers 50A service (I assume it is 50A due to 2 ACs).

I know I've used the easy start with:

1. a 2500 Champion on propane (about 1665w) which is under 15A
2. my shore power 'dogboned' to the 30A service of the trailer which is 15A breaker on 12g romex (going to update this as it can handle 20A)

This is with a GE 13.5 AC. When I reinstall the soft start on my new trailer - GE 15 AC I might a different outcome but I do know it works.

But for a true 30A service I'm almost certain it will work.

I think you're confusing this with an EMS. The soft starts are wired directly to the air conditioner, not the line comming into the trailer.

Does anyone know what model AC I have in my Alpine 3790FK I know it is Dometic (at least I think it is )? Like I posted earlier I am going to the Ocala Show tomorrow and if I can find a good deal on one I will probably buy one but, if I'm not mistaken there are different ones for different units. My 5er is at the dealer and so are all the the manuals so I can't figure out which AC I have.

The 264 is what you want for any RV AC

I thought the question was "if I install these...." will they be able to run my 2 ACs with a 30A service connection at shore power.

If that is the case, not confused. The one assumption I had was that the trailer has 50A service since it has 2 ACs. They would have to purchase 2 easystarts and install on one each AC. I believe that both ACs will be able to start simultaneously in this case.

Obviously I mis interpreted your post and I was confused. Yes the claims are you can run 2 13.5k btu units on 30 amp service. I cannot substantiate those claims personally. In reading your post again, a 20 amp circuit will not be enough IMO to run 2 a/c units soft start or not.

Your 2021 should have the Dometic Blizzard NXT series... One of course is the HP and the other is Non HP

I thought you might have. In my case/experience it is a single AC on a 15A circuit to a trailer with 30A service.

Even when I transfer the easy start to the new trailer (with 50A) I only have one AC and believe it will work...but will repost results when tested...I might have to upgrade the circuit to true 20A? as the AC is 15k instead of 13.5K

I think he was using HP as an indication for heat pump.

No problem, I get brain flatulence often. Seems like these days you have to travel to certain locations to an RV show to get RV Acseory vendors. The Maryland RV show around here is held twice a year. It consists of RV dealers that bring only their RVs. There are some campgrounds there but in relativly small numbers.

Then there's the larger number of "hawkers " that IMO belong at a home improvement show. I have no idea why anyone going to an RV show would end up buying vinyl windows, hot tubs, asphalt shingle roofing, or any of the other services that only apply to a sticks & bricks house. Apparently they must get enough leads to justify returning every year.

Just a note, some RV shows have websites with a vendor's list and map of what spaces the vendors have rented. It can come in handy if you're looking for something specific.

The 15K is the unit with the Heat Pump. The 13.5 K is not a HP unit on the Alpine
