Changing trucks

I am switching from a f250 to a f350. Does anyone know if there will be any change in how level my 5th wheel will be. Right now with the f250 when connect it is completely level. Just wondering if it will be the same. Everything on the new f350 is the same other then it being a 1 ton vice a 3/4 ton truck.

It's pretty easy to look up bed height on the specific year and trim level and compare.

Did your f250 suspension sag any when you hitched up? It might have been level with 1 or 2” sag….the f350 probably won’t sag at all or as much

I’m looking forward to getting it. They keep changing the build date. It was ordered in September supposed to arrive in December. Received e mail last week build date was mid March. Then two day later was changed to end or March then changed to mid April. So guess it will be built when it is build.

Should generally be the same unless you are going from a 4x4 to a 4x2 or visa-versa. However, below are the reported ground clearance specs on the 2022's suggest it will be different.

F-250 8.2 (4x2) - 8.5 inch (4x4)
F-350 8.3 (4x2) - 8.8 inch (4x4)

How does that work? Do they change the model year or do you still get the prior year ?

I know when summer rolls around you can usually get a better deal on vehicles before the new model year comes out in the fall.

But of course it’s been a strange time to buy vehicles so I guess you can’t go by past history

Be patient my friend. Ordered my '22 F350 DRW in early November. Picked it up this week- almost 4 months. Not too bad considering the current supply and demand situation. I went from a 2017 F250 to this. No towing yet but will advise after a late March scheduled trip.

I've also been waiting four months for my new truck. I'm supposed to pick up my new GMC next weekend. Am curious if your dealer added any "mark ups" on your truck? My dealer has now added a $5k mark up on top of the MSRP.

I am about to the point of just keeping my paid in full Ram.

Just received an e mail my truck should go into production end of March. Will see it’s been changed 3 times now. As for mark ups I’m under the ford family plan. Fords has a set price on what the dealer sells the vehicle to me under the plan. I already have the price of my truck. So shouldn’t have any issues. If I was not under the plan and the dealer raised the price after my order he would keep it. I don’t know about the other auto makers. But fords is getting ready to penalize deals who are doing just that.

If your "dealer" (stealership) is adding a $5K markup, it may be in violation of GM's policy against "price gouging"... Take a look at the video in the first post in the thread located here: https://www.keystoneforums.com/forum...ad.php?t=50220 You may find some "assistance in removing the markkup" from GM, and at the same time, identify price gouging at a stealership that's earned the title.....

I had a chat with a GM rep this morning and explained the mark up my dealer has added to my truck above MSRP. The rep said that all dealers are independently owned and operated. Therefore, they are able to sell above or below MSRP.

The rep then offered to search for a truck near me with a more "acceptable" price. I knew how the search was going to end. Gave the rep the info on the truck I was in need of, 3500 SRW, etc. She then stated no such truck near me, duh.

Told the rep I was going to see how it goes at the dealer next weekend. She said thanks for being a GM customer blah blah.

Absolutely not. We have a dealer somewhat local that is a volume dealer. The original quote was about $4k under MSRP. That's $4k plus tags and all. I got another $1500 off of him when I picked her up. Good relationship was already established though so that helps. My brother picked up a 22 King Ranch about a month earlier.

My OTD was about $4500 under MSRP if that helps. I've got a standing offer from another dealer for $6k over what I paid.

Also, was your original price in writing?

I heard the same thing from a dealer in my area last year …it’s a shame since the American people bailed them out in 2008.

It’s like bribing border guards to get something out of a country.

Looks like you don’t have a choice..I’d wait till the 11th hour when paperwork is being processed and they have skin in the game and see if you can negotiate oil changes, extended warranty or accessories to be added to the deal..they have more leeway on these things and you may recoup half of it in the end.
