Seaflo Accumulator Tank for Marine and RV Water Pumps - 0.75 Liter

Hello Community,

Does anyone have experience using a Seaflo Accumulator to reduce pump noise and runtime?

Thanks for sharing your wisdom.

I've used accumulator tanks in boats and campers. They will accomplish 2 things.

They will reduce or eliminate water hammering by reducing or eliminating the pulsations in the water line. Secondly, they will reduce the cyling of the pump. You can draw a glass of water, or dampen a rag, etc withou the pump running.

Naturally how effect the tank reduces pump cycling is inn direct correlation to the size of the tank and the water demand. If the pump cycles when water is not being used then there's an issue. Either the pump isn't holding pressure or worse there's a leak in plumbing bleeding off the pressure.

I think the "go to accumulator" for most people would be the brand that matches the water pump in their RV. For those with Shurflo pumps, this one: https://www.amazon.com/SHURFLO-181-2...27263694&psc=1 and for those with FloJet pumps, this is the one I see used most often: https://www.amazon.com/Flojet-305730.../dp/B004BC8LZO

The FloJet tank is also available on EBay for less, but I have no experience with that EBay seller: https://www.ebay.com/itm/12402085543...CABEgJpIPD_BwE

From a "technical perspective" any accumulator tank that will connect to the pump output will work, but size and fittings will determine where and how easy it might be to install.

I purchased and installed one of these:

SEAFLO Pre-Pressurized Accumulator Tank https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MVA6GCC..._CsuMzgCknLYmD

Works just like Flybouy said.

I'm considering installing an accumulator. Are there any issues winterizing an accumulator? I normally open low point drains and open all faucets and pull the zinc in the hot water tank. will I need to do anything in addition to this?

Install the accumulator so the port is at the lowest point and then no additional steps are required to winterized.
