New 5th Wheel - Moving on Up

We traded in our Cougar half ton for a Cougar Half Ton 5th Wheel (27sgs) . I fell in love with the views and the light kitchen cabinets; hubs loved the weight and the shower. We scour the forum for your advice any time we have a problem or question, so thanks to the regular posters. Here are some pics: (sorry about the sideways photos)

Nice floor plan. Congrats. I think there was a rule for a long time that all cabinets had to be wood toned. My missus likes the white cabinets in newer models and just hope she never gets the paint brush out to redo ours.

Nice looking trailer. Congratulations !!!

We looked at that same floorplan, decided to keep our trailer, went back and looked at that floorplan and again said, "Nope"... Went and looked again and I was reluctant, so we said no for the 3rd time... Just yesterday, DW told me she wants to "go look at that trailer again"...

So, I may be posting photos of our new trailer (that looks almost like yours) here in a week or so.....

Hey there, congrats on the new upgrade!

The light interior color is certainly sweet, too.

Have fun and stay safe!

We have the same trailer, although ours does not have the lighter wood color.
We just love ours! Hope you have as much fun as we are having with it.

No, but there are many dogs here! We are dog lovers, but lost our last one (age 15) during Covid and have decided to (try to) remain dog-less.

That's funny. I was working on talking hubs into painting the cabinets in the old trailer. Maybe why he was so agreeable to buy this one!!

My wife and I loved the look of the 27SGS but eventually we settled on the 24RDS. The one issue we had with the SGS were the chairs at the rear. In the one parked on the dealer's lot the chairs had been moved away from the wall a good bit by people wanting to test them out I would guess. I tried to move them back in place to see how hard it would be to close the slide. It wasn't easy for my wife and I. We were being very mindful of the floor which complicated things I'm sure but the image of us two old folks wrestling chairs on every departure dampened our enthusiasm. Apart from that personal issue we loved it. Glad you're enjoying it!

We have the 28foot model with the reclining chairs in the back. They are HEAVY!!
I put chair glides under the legs, and it is so much better.

I would caution anyone looking at an RV that has the recliners on the back wall with dual opposing slides to do a LOT of checking. Our last trailer had them and we hated them. They had to be turned sideways and secured to close the slides. They had to be moved a long way from the back wall to recline. They were heavy and cumbersome. While traveling, if we were going to stay for more than 3 days we would pull the recliners out (reluctantly) and use them then put them back for the next leg of travel. If a shorter stay we just left them strapped up and used lawn chairs....in the middle of the living room. NOT a good situation.

We replaced the recliners with two swivel rockers. A little smaller and fit perfectly. We didn’t like the recliners because, like others say, they have to be pulled out from the wall too much to recline. For we two folks in our 70s it works much better!

Very nice as you can see from my description we have the 29 rks and love it. We did just replace the theater seating with two new electric recliners. It’s nice when your old and just push a button to recline. Plus they are much more comfortable then the theater seating.

I get that they are heavy, but we love how comfy they are. I'll definitely be putting chair glides under them. Thanks for your comments and suggestions.
