Glad you're doing well with the new tv. Now you understand the "you don't know what you don't know " statement. So many folks (esp. 1/2 ton owners) say their trailer tows great, no problem until they upgrade and find out the fifference.

Oh, sure! Like you're the boss? You are s#$%&@# in high cotton with a new dually and she can't have a new 5'ver?

You don't need to give this a second thought!
You do not have a jake brake that rattles windows when you let off the go pedal.
Yours is an exhaust brake & no one will know you're using it but you unless you remove the muffler & run exhaust stacks up through the bed like some redneck trucker.

Let's see towing report, first statement will be I had to check the mirrors all the time to be sure the 5er was still attached!
That is the way it felt on the first tow with our 2016 Ram Laramie 3500 HO, Aisin and 3.73's.

You are pulling 12,260#, with a towing capacity of what 33,000#? you are going to have a sore neck from checking the mirrors to see if it is still back there.

The term is likely "unmuffled exhaust brake", yours is muffled.

I’ve had one since 2012 but I haven’t been out west in some of the little towns. I always use it though

Big difference between a real Jake Brake and the exhaust brakes on these pickups.. especially the Ford which is really in the turbo..

Yeah and on my new truck it has a regular exhaust brake setting and and auto exhaust brake setting...first one is to reduce speed, second one is for maintaining speed going down a hill. These trucks are getting more and more complicated.

Mine had a on/off button, but did exactly the same 2 functions?

PacBrake makes a Jake style engine brake for the Cummins 6.7, likely overkill, but would be awesome.

Congrats on your new truck. Unfortunately, unless "they" are a dually 1 ton owner and have towed with one, "they" will just never "understand." ....

You will never have to worry about towing anything ever again! Fifth wheel, travel trailer, boat, camper, or the space shuttle! Just like AllState... "You're in good hands now!"

Congrats!

LOL!

One needs to ask, did they bend the frame, OR crush the bed around the frame??

I predict that one day they can truley say "I don't even know its back there". Unfortunately the poor guy following will know it's "infront of them", lying on their hood.

I wonder if the front wheels come off the ground when you step into the camper ...on a positive note I bet he has airbags

This was posted on Google news yesterday morning. It was spotted in Florida & the story stated the bed was crushed & the overhang was cracked.

Guess that’s a good example of towing payload vs towing capacity ..they likely looked at the second number and said “ oh I’m fine it’s rated to tow 12000lbs”...( didn’t realize payload was 1400lbs or something around there)

Are those Rock Tamers in your picture? I’m going to order a set but I hope they don’t move around a lot and scratch my painted bumper
