New to the trailer scene
I just realized a previous attempt to posting my 'introduction' didn't stick...so second attempt. My wife and I have not been camping for 25 years and that was solely in tents. Due to covid, we promised our (adult children) that we would not fly/hotel stay to our son's "city hall wedding" in Alabama, we live in New Hampshire. Besides we always liked camping, want to introduce the grandchildren to it and although have traveled quite a bit outside the country really have not seen the good 'ol USA outside of business trips. So we created our own 'bubble' for the wedding trip with the purchase of a Keystone Bullet 273 BHS (bunkhouse - for the grandchildren).
And then subsequently upgraded our RAM 1500 ecodiesel to a Ram 2500 diesel (approx 8k->19k towing capacity change). We couldn't 'test' highway towing where we live, but the trip through the mountain notches at about 50mph seemed to indicate that it was doable in the 1500. In the end I was in the market for a new truck so made the switch.
We have returned from our 16 day, 3000 mile journey and had a blast. Can't wait for our next trip....Although the unit is winterized and tucked away for the winter.
Have already yielded valuable info from the forum and hopefully can contribute.

Welcome to the forum from Pennsylvania. Sounds like you have had some interesting experiences so far. Good choice on upgrading the truck, and enjoy the new Bullet!

Jay, Glad to have to aboard. The camper is a great way to bond with your grandkids. Its kind of surprising how many things kids remember like camping with grandies!

Congrats on your new camper purchase and congrats on your successful trip. Spring is just around the corner. Think ahead like this keeps the winter from being so long!
Again, Congrats!

Thanks
So far we have used the Bullet it for about a week as a 'driveway guest house' ( I have easy access to my septic system so can actually make it fully functional ).
And our 16 day round trip to AL to the wedding.
The grandchildren were so excited to help set it up. All of our children grew up camping (in tents) but none married spouses with similar experiences. We are about to change that for our grandchildren!
Depending on the virus situation we have identified a few different ways of utilizing it to 'expand' family vacation space in addition to camping.
As we are big DIYs, hope to contribute to the forum.

Welcome. You've contributed a bit already!
I bet the 2500 will prove itself in the mountains, etc. - congrats and nice looking setup.

This is my first of hopefully many reply's and or post, I live in Western North Carolina, grew up camping in pop ups, did lots of tent camping with friends trout fishing and backpacking with my son who became an Eagle Scout then got away from it for years. In 2012 I bought a 17 ft Casita TT, then moved up to a 2018 Keystone bullet 1750RK which my grandson loved! I now have 3 grandsons and just moved up to a 273BHS Bullet and love it! I pull with a 2019 Tundra 5.7 which does a great job in the mountains. It is so nice to have a safe place to stay now with covid 19 rearing its head, not having to worry about how well a Hotel room has been cleaned. All we have to do is find a campground with some type of creek running nearby to entertain the boys and they are happy! Looking forward to more trips in 2021!
