Joining the Cougar 1/2 ton family

We bought our first TT in 1994 and were tent campers long before that time. We have owned at least a half dozen TT and popups since.

In addition to traditional RVing we have traveled the USA on BMW motorcycles and even pulled three different trailers behind the bike, one was a small popup.

As we rode less we got a 2006 Weekend Warrior TT toy hauler to carry the bike and camp in comfort. The bike is seldom ridden anymore so I gutted the TH and turned it into a regular TT.

Now retired, we spent four months in the Weekend Warrior this year and loved it. The only issue is the Warrior is old and deteriorating, we bought it in 2006 and have worn it out.

Next week we pick up a new 2018 Keystone Cougar 26RBS. I wanted the 2018 which was built before the addition of the iN-Command electronics. I prefer plain old switches over expensive touch pads, transistors, and relays.

We were also very specific about the things we wanted, auto-leveling, theater seating, free standing table and chairs, nice kitchen, and loads of storage. We wanted all that in a package approximately 30' or less and a television directly across from the seating in the "no neck wrecker" position.

We tow with a 2016 Chevrolet 3500 DRW D/A, overkill for sure but we love it. The truck is outfitted with an ARE aluminum contractors cap so I can carry two electric bikes, kayak, air compressor, generator and a myriad of other assorted tools.

If you have actually read this far, thank you for your patience. I look forward to being an active participant on this forum.

Welcome to the forum

Congrats on your new RV. I agree with you, these things are getting more and more complex. Working on them can be a lesson in patience and frustration. Anyway lots of good information and loads of great people here, looking forward to hearing from you.

Welcome! That was our choice of TT as well (but a 2019), for many of the same reasons. I think you're going to enjoy it!
