Mods to Plumbing part 1

On to some of the more interesting ones. I have installed an accumulator / pressure tank in all my trailers. It was a mandatory mod in this one as the water pump is located within inches of my head when sleeping. If you have never work with one the single greatest benefit is that the head can be flushed 3 or 4 time with out the pump coming on (very useful for the late night run to the head). I installed this one way up under the sink over the water heater. The picture of it installed is a little hard to figure out what I did so I have included a shot of it in the last trailer which makes it easier to see all the parts. I also installed a shock absorber under the pump, basically 2 small sheet of plywood separated by about 2" of foam all glued together. It keeps the pump off the trailer floor and helps it run quieter. I also install flexible hose between the pump and the very ridged pipe of the trailer. These are just a couple of ready made lengths that you would normally use to go between a faucet and the shut off valve. All three have made the pump sound much quieter but I still need to figure out how to get some of the ridged piping away from the trailer.

This one came from the house. I had larger ones installed on the water heaters but you can pick them up at your favorite home improvement warehouse. I did bleed the air pressure down to just under what the water pump in the trailer can deliver. I'll have to go dig the exact value up for you but it's on the pump label.
