New owner
New owner of a Springdale Mini 1800, towing with a 2017 Ram. We made a 650 mile trip to purchase, and we camped the night we drove home to save a hotel. Cant wait to get a little time under my belt, and make some new memories. Most of our camping will be done boondocking style, no power or facilities due to our atv hobbies.

Welcome to the forum! Good luck with your new camper. Happy boondocking and ATVing!!! Sold my two ATVs but had a ball when we had them.
Regards,
Mike

We are shopping for some type of lights to help the front area when we have the canopy out, its going to surely be different than tent camping.

Yes, it certainly will be different then a tent. You will first of all be comfortable and you won't have to sleep on the ground.

A tip for boon docking. We placed our Win 2000 generator in a rack on top of our tow vehicle. It keeps the gas out of an enclosed space. I just plug it in, and pull the cord to get power.

We have every intention of making a secure base for the gen, and it will be cable locked in the bed of my truck. I have about 30' of cord , and I always park close anyways. We wont need power until Spring comes.

Another single axle... cool!
We have a generator as we pretty much exclusively boondock. It runs our AC plus water pump. batt charger, fridge, awning, etc with no problems but I wouldn't try to throw the microwave or water heater into the mix.

Welcome from another member who prefers to dry camp or boondock.
One thing to consider, is a portable solar unit to recharge those batteries. We also have an inverter generator. Used it for 4 seasons. However, we added a portable solar kit this season (about $250) and really like this set up. A 100w kit will easily keep our batteries topped off even when we run the furnace or watch a movie. Nice thing for us is that there is no need to babysit the solar unit during the day. The generator limits us to having it on only when we are at the campground. We keep the generator handy for those days when solar isn't practical but mostly rely on the solar now. Happy to provide more information and details if you're interested.
