Replacement bulbs

As you can see time to replace 12 volt bulbs. Anyone replace this 1076 bulb with an led?

Do a search on Amazon. There are lots of options.

Thanks but there are many compatible 1076 bulbs. Any particular bulb suits the fixture best? Not too bright?

Since you want to replace with an LED you will have to deal with Lumens like regular bulbs as well as color like warm yellowish, white, to blueish

It's really a matter of personal preference. Some people use their table only to eat and want "subdued" lighting, some use it for doing paperwork or playing board games and want "brighter" lighting, some use it for sewing or other "fine work" and want "almost daylight" lighting....

The average 1076 bulb (after about 20 hours of operation) produces around 175-200 lumens. The incandescent bulb is in the 2800-3200 Kelvin color range. So, if you're looking for a 1:1 exchange, an LED that produces around 200 lumens and is somewhere near 3000K color should be a close match. Now is your opportunity to increase light output, change to "florescent color range" or decrease light output. It's a matter of choice. To go brighter, increase the lumens, dimmer, decrease them. To replicate the original color, 3000K, if you want florescent, around 4500-5000K, if you want daylight, around 5500-6000K. Above that you'll be in the blue/violet range which many people find annoying for most activities.

LED's are available from Amazon, EBay and a number of other sources for around $2 to $5 each. You can experiment with what best suits your needs and your preferences.

These https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Put them in two pendants over the sink. Work well for my taste.

They are not "bright" white IMO as they say they are, they are not blue and they are not yellow. They are "just right".

I think these are what I need for my pendant lights over my island. The regular 12V incandescent keep burning out very fast.

Exceptionally cheap LEDs will probably cost you in the long run by their burning out LED chips quickly. I get LEDs from SuperBrightLEDs. A little more expensive but they last!

A RV dealer I sometimes shop at had some that were over $12 apiece.

Good quality ones with multiple LED chips can run you that much.

Good quality LED's are not necessarily expensive. Some may be defective, but the price is not an indicator of whether they will be reliable. I bought 20 of the ones in this picture in 2010 and have transferred them from one RV to another and have not yet had any failures. I did have one array that started blinking when hot (3 individual LED's on a panel of 48) and I switched it to different light fixture and it has worked since then. Possibly a defective circuit board or a loose solder joint?

For whatever reason, it now works and no failures in 7 years. They were $18 for 10, so $1.80 for each one. My investment of $36 for 20 would have cost $240 at $12 each. Quite a savings, in my view. I realize not everyone wants to (or needs to) buy with discretion, but, there are reliable LED assemblies available without paying $12 each. Your views may differ......
