Problems with passports

New to the forum, and purchased In march a passport 3100. I have had a lot of problems with mine and was curious if anyone else has had any issues with their travel trailer and if so how was it dealing with keystone. My first issue was a week before leaving for our first camping trip I found two inches of water in the bedroom. Took it back to the dealer said it was the fresh water valve. The fixed it rebuilt the bed due to mold, and off for our first trip. While camping it rained and we woke up to water pouring through the window. Still while camping same trip the valve in galley tank would not close big surprise to me when emptying it. Last on the way home the battery fell of and It was dragged down the road until a Good Samaritan told me about it.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Hopefully your dealer will make things right.
We have had our 2650BH for 2 years now & have only had a couple of minor issues that our dealer corrected in a timely manner under warranty.

I've not had any issues. I guess they built this one right. But I do go around tweaking things as I get to them. Like tightening all the plumbing fittings. Only my bathroom sink's cold feed leaked a little, and that may have been caused when I upgraded the faucet.

My battery came with in a box with a strap cinched around it.

New Passport

We have a new 2013 Passport 195RB Grand Touring. We have finished our first shake-down trip. We had absolutely no issues whatsoever. It towed like a dream. The setup was a piece of cake. This is our first TT and I don't think we could have made a better choice.

We have had our 2510RB since 3/13 and have had it out about 5 different weekends. We had a broken piece of molding on the refrigerator door which we found on the PDI we are waiting for the dealer to ship to us to replace (since they ordered the wrong piece to install during our 2 month inspection), and a water leak from a loose fitting on the outlet side of the hot water heater. We found this on our second time out and I fixed myself. We were able to get a fan on the carpet and got everyhing dried out very quickly and prevented any mold or other issues. Took pics to document and sent to dealer in case something comes up in the future.
Other than that we are very happy with the TT. I am playing around with adjusting the WD as there is a huge difference when towing the TT with or without the fresh water tank full or empty. We do alot of boondocking and alot of times there is no where to fill the tank before setting up.

Not too bad here. I have a passport 2910. The black water flush hose under the bathroom sink (where it comes in from the outside hook up) was broken and I flooded my restroom (with fresh hose water) while trying to back flush my black tank. I added a battery and two boxes screwed and strapped down to the frame otherwise yes mine would have fallen off. While watching a movie in the dead of night the couch collapsed with the wife and I on it. Were not heavy people either. 4 wood screws holding a whole couch. The bottom bunk that has the on hinges on it bowed like a hammock until I reinforced it. (300 lbs my *$@#) Half my blinds have torn out of the wall. No anchors just wood screws in stripped out holes in the masonite walls. Other than that we’ve been good. You have to be very patient. These things are built like junk no matter what model. They cut every corner. All brands are the same. I’m a fixit guy so unless the slide falls off I’ll fix it. As long as the main structure is sound I'm content. I had a buddy with a weekend warrior who's frame separated from the chassis.

I still can’t get over the stove vent that blows into the trailer. I would have loved to been in that meeting where Bob the design guy said, "I know,,,, lets have the stove vent blow our customer's smokey bacon grease right back into the trailer”, "Yeah that's a great idea"! "Ooooh better yet, we'll put the smoke alarm right above that"!

All cynicism aside we still lover our trailer and would buy another. I had a Fleetwood with the same dumb issues.

TriTip,
the stove venting issue is a deal breaker for me since I cook alot. My Springdale 291 vents outside but the fan is god-awful noisey. Giving heavy thought to converting to 120V hood.
But, as an aside, have you looked at new homes lately? Many don't have outside hood venting even in the big $$ group. Maybe no one cooks anymore.

I hear ya! I cook on my fire pit 99% of the time unless it's raining. We have a window just above and to the left of the stove. I can also slide the screen open. I'm thinking of buying a small table top 8 inch fan or even one that I can bolt to the cupboard above that will be real powerful and blow the smoke out the window. My Fleetwood vent was like a whole house fan. It was so loud and powerful it would suck the curtains in on the adjacent windows. You couldn't hear yourself think but it worked. I've seen where people sound proof the fan a bit with rubber sticker stuff inside to prevent the vibration. Have a good one!

We have only a few issues with ours. The rear stabilizer jacks fell off due to rusty and probably over tightened screws. I also have a fair amount of rust on a few other parts. The jacks are pretty rusty.
I will be taking it back this fall to get that fixed. Had 5"of rain last night and we survived nice and dry until we had to load up during the storm because of flash flooding

The only problem we've had with our 2890RL was a bad valve/tank (black) which gave me one unexpected poop shower and one that was not unexpected...

Dealer should have caught it during inspection but didn't... oh well the dealer fixed it ( took a full month to the day) and since then the trailer and all applicable appliances have preformed flawlessly... No leaks, no drips, no flapping canopies, no windows flying out.... nothing..... just 24 nights of enjoyment and 3K miles towed.... in one calendar year...

The DW has decided (and I concur) that this trailer is not large enough and that the pups need more room; so the plan is to purchase a 333 MKS Cougar 5'er in the near future... (I'm putting it off as long as I can)

Thought I would provide everyone with an update. Just got camper back last Saturday after two months in the shop. Went out on Wednesday for second trip to Lakewood resort in Hillsville, Va.. One of the original problems was my galley grey tank not shutting they said it was fixed now, but it isn't still unable to close it. Two new problems my awning is leaking and DVD player stopped working got to love it. I believe I have a lemon.

Bfthomas... So sorry to hear of your problems! I have a 2013 Passport 3180RE and have only had MINOR issues, all of which I have managed to correct, with the dealers "Parts shipped" assistance...

If you don't mind my asking, which dealer did you purchase your TT from??

Rv outlet 007 in Ringgold, Va. I forgot to add when I got the camper back none of the outlets in the front half of the camper worked. Guy came out from dealership opened up the control panel messed around and said it was fixed. I asked him what was the problem he said not sure. When I get back next time think I am going to trade it for something else.

RV Outlet is where I bought my 2013 Passport 3180RE....

I will admit, the service dept, seems a little, well, uh, how do I say this ; "Less than extremely knowledgeable" when it comes to some specific things. I had a few issues like I said, with my TT... most of which were my own fault for not catching on the PDI (which is a story more documented elsewhere in the forum...try searching my posts for RV007 or RV Wholesalers)

However, they were champions when it came to assisting me in getting what I needed to make repairs myself for the minor things I had. Shipped NEXT DAY whatever they had in stock, and ordered and sent out anything else that was required.

Overall, they are good for the prices. I really don't feel too "at home" with the service dept. I believe I will take mine, when necessary to another dealer closer to home (They are about 2.5 Hrs from me) .

I knew when I bought my TT, that I bought something that I consider a "shell". I knew I would have some issues, and was prepared to repair what I could...(I'm just used to the way things are built these days). I am probably way more forgiving than I should be , considering I would rather do something myself the right way, than to trust someone else to do it that I don't know their mechanical aptitude.

When I picked up my TT, I was given a walkthru with 3 techs, one was about 20 yrs old...(I know what I knew mechanically at 20) and the other around 30ish and the older one about my age. Unfortunately, I relied on the older tech to be the more knowledgeable, only to find, he was turning my questions to the 20yr old to answer...occasionally to the 30ish, then most answers ended with "I'm not sure, but we'll try to find out for you." Some questions they searched for answers to, I googled while on site with my smartphone, waiting for them to come back, and had to explain to THEM the answer. Tisk Tisk.

Have you talked to the owner ?? "John" is his name. He was very helpful when I started throwing his biggest "competitor's" name around (Southern RV) as a go to guy if I was going to need some assistance getting the parts I needed to make repairs without bring the TT back 2.5 hrs to him....He then found a way to "work" with me.

No I was going to talk to him next Saturday when I take it back for the third time. I agree with you with the service department, but I will say they have been pretty good with fixing everything. Thank you for your comments it is funny I think I am going to southern rv next.
