I had heard under some low load conditions in just the right weather conditions the inter cooler can fill with some water so when someone goes to accelerate they get some water into the engine causing the "loss of power". I have yet to have any issues with my ecoboost. In fact this past weekend was my first trip towing with this truck and I was impressed with how it handled towing for a gasser. Even through the bluffs of northeast Iowa on 6% to 8% grade hills the truck had all the power it needed to maintain the speed limit up the hills with my trailer. I was even impressed on how much engine breaking it could do.

Ha...that would be 0.01% based on the total number of F- series trucks sold in 2012. I don't know how mant ecoboost ford has sold but I see more and more every day.

This comes up so often at f150forum.com that you'd think it happens to everybody.

While the EcoBoost seems awesome, I loves me my V8.

It is 3 owners, two of which have a passenger car version who claim there are 100 more. Ford has been making this motor since 2009, how many of these do you think they have made? 20,000, 40,000, maybe more?

While I have never towed with a Ford V-8 truck I can say the Ecoboost beats the crap out do my old V-8 Silverado I had before. I do see it on the forums a lot, but it is hard to tell how may post are it actually happen to me vs I heard this happen to this one guy my buddies dad's best friend's brother's uncle knows.

127,883 total ecoboost made in 2011. Ford also stated 56% of the F150 were v-6 in 2011.

http://social.ford.com/our-articles/...-sold-in-2011/

I would love to see how many trucks since 2011 have been sold as an ecoboost.

I'm a Ford tech, I've seen one issue. There is a TSB not a recall.

So it sounds like it is not a wide spread problem at all. What does the TSB say the fix is?

Real info from someone working from Ford is priceless. Sounds like it is not any real issue rather just an anomaly.

It is a computer reflash and a newly designed intercooler... Supposedly there have been zero issues with the 2013 model so far. I have owned my 2011 for 2 years now, put on 20,000 miles and haven't had any problems(knock on wood).. It still puts a smile on my face every time i get behind the wheel..

Jayco 24FBS to Bullet 284RLS

The Ford Ecoboost 2012 pulled my Jayco w/o any problems. I then moved up to the Bullet 284RLS and even with the sway bars the Boost was rocking and rolling at one too many times. Made the move to the Ford 250 4WD diesel FX off road this pass week with intensions of getting a fifth wheel late this year. I was really impressed with the Ecoboost for performance, comfortability and its large fuel tank (36 gls) when I used it. I would recommend it to anyone pulling a smaller travel trailer.......

Also have to check the cat converters and a few other things. I had one in the shop but the customer was traveling and couldn't stay overnight til we got the intercooler in.
