Yea I knew that but old age is catching up to my memory I guess. Personally I would never have an RV with the Schwintek slide drive system... I think I would choose cable drive over it any day of the week.

That said.. the only slide system I will buy is all hydraulic... Alpines are using a mix of hydraulic and Schwintek slides now.. The hydraulic never have issues unless a line or fitting leaks... The in wall electric slide is giving the newer Alpine owners noting but issues... from what I have seen posted elsewhere.

Of course there is the exception where some OPs are reporting no issues.. but those having issues far exceed those that arent

I prefer the schwintek, but I think ANY rv built in the last 2 years is subject to lots of issues as the factories just pumped them out as fast as they could.

I bought the scrim tape and will be applying it when I get back home as a temporary fix, but I'm sold on the UMHW as a permanent solution. How do you know what size to get, who do you order it from, and who would you trust to do the installation job?
