water pump not shutting off

2022 Montana HC 295RL First trip since picking up 5er last fall. Crossed over the Rockies so left winterize in place until RV park. Been on city water OK (2 days) and decided to rinse anitfreeze out of onboard tank. Used tank drain, shut drain valve and added about 2/3 tank. Turned of pump and works OK but continued to run and wouldn't do auto shut down. All faucets/shower (rinsed all) work with hot and cold.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Jack

Did you turn the city water supply off? All valves oriented correctly for running from the freshwater tank? If those things have been properly done then you have 2 likely scenarios. Either you have a leak or the pump is not working correctly. If it's not holding pressure it could be debris holding the check valve open, a leak, or the pressure switch has failed.

Edit: I didn’t mention this earlier but are you sure that you purged all of the air from the water lines? Opened every faucet inside and out until all air was released?

City water off: yes, my pump won't come on unless city water is off. All valves appear correctly oriented; but, I'll check again at next stop.

I assume check valve is located ON the pump; so, I'll need to pull pump to check. This sounds like the likely culprit. Again, I'll check at next stop. We'll be there for two weeks.

Thanks for info.

It's not uncommon on new trailers to get construction debris (bits of plastic) in the pump. I'd pull the pump, clean it out by removing the screws holding the pump halves together. Then I'd add a strainer on the intake side of the pump.

Are your low point drains closed?

I think the construction debris is definitely worth checking. Currently on city water so will check into this.

Bought this 5er last fall; stayed in it 3 nights while bring home to CO; winterized it and then drained for rinsing. Low point drains are closed.

Thanks for suggestions.
