Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT All-Season

Had one of my Americus tires blow out. Decided to purchase an American made tire (I think) and bought Cooper AT3 XLT All-Seasons. They are LRE. Found out Cooper does have factories in China and hoping I receive some US made tires. They came into Walmart today and getting them installed tomorrow. Found that Cooper was bought by Goodyear; not sure if this is good or bad... we'll see. 55K mile warranty.

Paid $689.04 ($172.26 each) plus tax at Walmart. Install is separate and will be paid tomorrow. Same exact tire from Amazon is $287 each or Big O Tire ($288). Be careful buying these things as the XLT is LRE and the regular LT is LRD. Wonder if I should get Wally's tire warranty.... hmmmm?

Look at the plant code when you get them. I replaced my truck tires first of the year and gave the Coopers a long look as we put them on out F150 King Ranch about 2 years ago. They are doing great and we're a lot less expensive than the OEM Pirelli Scorpions. They do generate noticeably more road noise but not horrible..

When I bought the tires for the F250 (275/70R 18 LRE) I compared the major tire brands from several retailers and for a set of 4 they were all within about $150 of each other. At the time Costco had a great deal on Michelin's (MICHELIN DEFENDER LTX 275/70R18 125R LRE ) for about $50 more so I went with them.

I just put Cooper HT (highway thread?) on the Ram. From Discount Tire. I needed them ASAP and didn't shop WalMart.
Happy so far with maybe 5,000 miles.

I think you'll like them George. The LT AT3's were the tire I moved to when I replaced the P-rated tires on my F150, prior to trading into my 1-ton. Very quiet tire, despite the somewhat rugged appearance.

DOT Code Location
UP Findlay, Ohio
U9 Tupelo, Mississippi
UT Texarkana, Arkansas
3D Albany, Georgia

I suspect that if there is some other code, they were made in... well... overseas.

Tires were manufactured in Texarkana date code 1322 so they are also fresh. Ride pretty well.
