Hepvo Valves on shower drain

Does anyone know if the Hepvo Valves are threaded and the best place to purchase? My shower drain Is VERY sluggish. I looked in the pass-through and do nit see any threaded fittings.

Yes the Hepvo valves are usually threaded in place.. If you add your RV make, model and year to your signature line it will help others to help you now and in the future should you have further questions

You can usually unscrew the valve and clean it out as long as the inside valve isn't damaged

Typically they will look like this one in the link:

Just make sure you note the orientation of the valve. It makes a difference.

Like chuckster57 said, "pay attention to the orientation of the HEPVO valve".. If it's installed with the "knobby edge up" it won't flow correctly.... So, you might want to double check to see how it's installed... If the "knobs are up" that may be your "sluggish drain problelm" and nothing is wrong with your HEPVO valve. Then again, it may be that the rubber interior valve is dry or damaged or even stuck together, making it not work properly...

As you can see in the photo, with the "knobby edge down, the valve drains completely. If it's installed upside down, there would be a "raised lip that won't drain" and that water would turn stagnant, damage the rubber valve and cause the HEPVO to fail. Note that waterflow in these two drawings is in opposite directions. The white valve flows left to right and the gray valve (with water in it) flows right to left...

I can imagine it would be like mounting deer whistles backwards, making them deer attractors!

Thanks for your help. I did locate it. Just have to remove 1 panel on the passthrough to get at it. This is the 1st thing on my list that' needs repair. The forum is awesome. I need to get done working 14 hours a day on this power plant outage to have time to start my repairs.
