Front Cap Issue

Howdy,

Have a 2020 Cougar 315rls. This past weekend i seemed to have develop a separation of the front cap and the nose where they are sealed together. Its a about a 3 inch divide on the driver side corner. Has anyone ever heard of something like this happenening. I need to seal it to keep it from any moisture from getting in. Any recommendations on a tape? Something temporary until I can get it reapaired.

THANKS

A 3" long gap or a 3" wide gap? A picture would help. DO NOT USE ETERNABOND OR SIMILAR TAPE. It will become permenant. Painters tape is best for not leaving residue but it also won't stick well if you have a good wax coating.

If the front cap separated from the body I would think that would be covered with the 3 year structural warranty. In the meantime, with such a large gap, maybe something like a strip of darco repair material secured with Gorilla tape would hold it.

Front Cap Issue

Hi all!

Thanks for responding to the thread. Yes I will take a picture of it and post. Have to go to storage to get that. I would say that it is 3 inches long and around 1 inch wide and thanks for the tape recommmendation.

THANKS Again!

3" LONG x 1" wide. I thought it was 3" wide. For a 1" wide opening, depending on how "flexible" it is you could use most any 4" wide "tough" tape until you can get it in and get it fixed.
