fresh water sanitizing

wife and i have been staying at full hookup rv parks, however we suddenly find ourselves in a situation where we will need to stay at a state campground for a couple weeks. I haven't sanitized my fresh water tank for some time. Is there a shortcut to sanitizing, not intending to drink it, just for showering and dishes. If worse comes to worse I do have 5 gal. totes, but would prefer to have some usable water available in rv. If I have to do the full sanitation I might still be able to pull it off, but concerned about how to drain tank without killing grass at campsite. Leaving current campgrounds day after tomorrow.
