Probably the hinge effect of the 5th overhang. Many 5th's have a void there with a trim over it. Sorta like a brick expansion strip.
Under warranty?

There have been many threads started by folks with similar cracks as yours. Use the search function. Many have resulted from a weld breaking and some have detailed the repair. I suspect folks who remember these crack threads will chime in.

Yup.. you have a major issue on your hands that will only get worse until repaired correctly

Does anyone have knowledge of the models and years this frame failure is specific to.

Wow!! that looks like a major undertaking. I found this kinda interesting and not in a good way.

 Information is not presented as a repair guaranteed to be covered by warranty.
 Keystone’s P & P (Policy & Procedures) must be followed for any requested warranty
work.
 Do not assume this repair is covered by warranty.

The issue doesn't seem to be restricted to particular models and goes across several model lines with bedroom slides on the driver's side in particular. Also seen on other manufacturer's models with slides in the same place.

The cracks that appear at lower front slide out area are across the board on Every fifth wheel brand, make and model since at least back to 2000 that I’ve been able to follow.. some units seem more susceptible to cracking than others

The cause has never been nailed down to one specific reason.. my 2014 has an 1/4 inch crack that appeared in 2015 and has never gotten any larger.. I stop drilled the filon and sealed over the crack and I inspect the area every time I tow

My hitch is a standard style husky 16K.. I do run air lifts and have since truck bought new..

Chuck, How do you know your frame isn't cracked up near the pin box? I have seen quite a few pictures of cracked frames with the filon removed. It would scare me to buy a 5th wheel with a bedroom slide out.

Quite frankly this very small cracked appeared over in Wyoming on I80 when the road construction was terrible and the transition was about a 6 inch drop with no warning ..

My hairline crack is 1/8 to 1/4 max and hasn’t changed in 8 years..I marked the edge of the crack and stop drilled with small drill nut.. 3/32 I think..it was what I used while on the road back in 2014 when this occurred..

Many owners would not ever notice this tiny crack in the filon on my fifth wheel

With the many thousands of miles towed since this tiny crack appeared and some rough roads we travel on yearly I’m confident if there were any structural issues the crack would have increased.

Then again I don’t have X-ray vision.. I try to apply sound judgement and decisions based on my aircraft structural background and 50 plus years of mechanical background when I make choices and decisions.

Had the crack continued to grow Id have pursued further.. but with 8 years of towing and zero change in crack..it’s sealed with clear proflex so I can see it and the edge mark I made years ago

The larger cracks many are posting would cause me great concern and would be repaired immediately or I would have gotten rid of that RV…

Where did all the silicone sealer come from? Fresh looking silicone. That’s not from factory like that.

The crack is repareable/sealable but as others pointed out it may indicate something else has cracked, shifted or broken.

Your trailer has the expansion joint under the piece of trim that extends down from the bottom of the slide.

Are you sure its a crack and not a fiber in the filon?

Does the crack open up when the trailer is hitched up?
