Pressure and temperature

Picked up a 2020 Silverado Max Tow 1500 4X4 crew and towing a 2019 Cougar 322RL. Took it out for a test pull today (wasn't snowing) and have to say truck did great both on local roads and interstate. My question is the truck is equipped with package that allows me to monitor trailer tire pressure and temperature. I had the trailer sensors installed and just had to see it work. All tire pressures were set at 80lbs. After 30 miles in the interstate tires raised about 8lbs in pressure which I expected and temps were running 90-93 degrees. Outside temp was around 50 degrees. Now that I have this info what should I expect to see temp wise? My thought is to watch and look for the one that goes wacky from the others. Other than that, enjoy the security of knowing. Am I correct?

During towing, the tires on the "sunny side" of the trailer will consistently be hotter than on the "shady side" of the trailer. As the temperature increases, so will the pressure, so you can look for temps on the "east side" in the morning to be hotter with higher pressure and the "west side" to be hotter with higher pressure in the afternoons. I've found a 5-20F temp increase on the "sunny side" and a 5-10 PSI increase on that same side.

So, I look for those two tires to be "close in temp and pressure" and the two "shady side tires" to be close. Expect a marked difference during "day time towing" with less impact if you tow in the evenings/at night.....

And, yes, your indication that something is wrong with a wheel/tire is likely to be a "wonkey reading on one sensor while the others are "fairly close to expectations".
