Need some help Sububan water heater

I have a Suburban water heater model SW12DE only has one switch inside to turn on and one outside on heater. Works fine on Gas but how do you get it to work on electric? Have tried turning gas off but all it will do is run a couple of cycles and then reset light comes on. Am I not seeing another switch somewhere or is there a relay that might be bad? Confused!!!!!

Open up your water heater panel outside. You will see a rocker switch with a clip through it. Should be marked "electric" on the bottom near clip. Remove clip push down and your running on electric mode.

Should also have lighting instructions on the panel. And I believe that the propane actually heats faster and hotter than the electric. Search the forum or I'm sure someone will chime in.

You will also have to turn on the circuit breaker for the water heater. If your trailer is set up like mine the inside switch is only for gas operation and can be off while using electric or on to use both. JM2¢, Hank .......... In case you don't have a manual for that water heater you can view or download one HERE.

I have the same water heater. Here is a Q & A site that explains a lot about your heater. Be sure to read #4 Q&A.
