Looking for the LP gas level indicator on my 12 montana? Very nice luxury coach without a LP gas level indicator surely not. Can anyone help?

LPGas indicator

The sad fact is that short of LP cylinders equipped with float gauges there is no reliable indicator available. You can buy special valves with float label gauges for 30 lb cylinders and install float level gauges, but as far as I know they are not supplied standard by Keystone or other coach mfrs. Cost is probably the issue.

Pressure gauges will not work because the pressure remains constant ( except for temperature effects) until the liquid is used up. At that point you have about 20 seconds warning until you run out --- not much of a warning. Temperature strips you stick on the side of the tank do not work very well either. You can weigh the tanks to see how much remains, but, of course that is a PITA.

I believe that big class A units which have permanently installed LP tanks are equipped with float gauges.

The best strategy is to use the tanks one at a time and refil each one after switching over.

I don’t know what your tank setup is like, but I use the Marshall switching regulator so when my first tank empties, it turns red and switches over to the second tank. I check my tanks every day or so to see if my first tank needs refilling.

Howdy All;

I do the 3 tank shuffle.

Bought a 'spare' tank, use the method used by sdayman,
when I get a red line I change the lever to the full tank,line turns green,
disconnect the empty, attach the 'spare'. When I have 2 emptys I go get them filled.
The fill-up place I go to in Utah gives a 10 cent per gal. discount if you
take over 10 gal. 2 empties ='s about 14 gal... Keeps suprises to a mimimum.
I hate suprises.....
