WATER FILTER, GRILL and POWER PROTECTION OUTBACK 330RL

Morning All,

Demo and pick up for our 2018 OUTBACK 330RL is Monday. Got the dealer to throw in some add ons... 2nd AC, Power Fan in the Bathroom, Wood Paneling for Fridge. Dealer is also going to install an outside LP connection.

I do have a few questions about what you all are doing for the following with your TT.

1. GRILL - Like the outside kitchen, but what about a grill? What do you use, have, installed, etc... My current TT had an outside grill. I know the Outback does not come with one, so I am looking at options, suggestions. I need to be able to grill that T-Bone...

2. WATER FILTRATION - What is being used on your Outback? I see there is no installed filtration system on the 330RL TT, so I will need to add one. Suggestions?

3. Surge Protection -- What is being used out there? I have a 30 amp voltage booster with surge protection box that I use with my TT now, but I will not be able to use it with this unit.

Cheers, George

Weber Baby Q with regulator removed and replaced with a quick disconnect. QD hose can be purchased online. For home use off a 20# bottle, buy a hose with an included regulator on the bottle end and a QD fitting on the BBQ end.

For filters, I buy the two-pack of blue, hose filters from Walmart. I use one a season, then use the replaced one for filling the spa at home.

This surge protector/EMS, but not necessarily from this company. Shop around.

George,

It sounds like your current travel trailer has a LP connection for a gas grill and that you already have a gas grill that you're using with that trailer. Have you considered just keeping the grill you have and using it with your new Outback? Chances are the dealer won't leave a "dirty, used grill" with the trailer when he puts it on his lot, so you might as well keep it.

As for filtration, many just use the CAMCO add on "blue filter". Easy to connect, lasts quite a while and with "safe water" it will filter the sand/grit as effectively as anything else. There's no need for an EverPur type filter if you're using water from an approved water system.

For a surge/electrical system protector, Desert185's recommendation is "spot on". Progressive has a "limited lifetime" warranty. Some other brands do not and, once they are "activated by a surge" must be replaced, at owner's expense. Shop wisely.....

Sounds like you have the grill situation resolved.

As far as water filtration we use the Camco blue filters mentioned above; carry a couple and change them out as needed.

I use a Surge Guard 50A protector (the high end model) and it has served us very well for several years. I do think the Progressive may have a better warranty.

All,
Grill solved, surge protector ordered, and filter issue done. Picking up the TT tomorrow, and will be itching to get it out on the maiden voyage. Thanks for all the help. Cheers, George
