Cougar High Country Remote Control

Has anyone had strange experiences with their Cougar remote control system? Our 2011 High Country has recently developed a problem where the outside lights will not turn on using the switches on the control panel - UNLESS the landing lights are turned on using the remote. Then all the lights go on or off together if you toggle one of the light switches.

I'm wondering if I should be looking for faults in the wiring or whether there is a problem in the remote control unit.

Jim

I see you live in Folsom. Give Folsom Lake Rv a call. We bought our 5th wheel from them and they have always been great for us.

Jim,

There are several posts throughout the forum related to the Cougar remote system. Do a search using the word
"remote" (without quotations) - the search feature is on the blue bar at the top of the page. Hopefully some
of the info will help you resolve the problem.

Terri. Thanks for the reply. I've searched the forum and have found that the remote controls seem to create lots of confusion. Nothing specifically answered my question. I'll keep working to diagnose it myself - and hopefully post a result!
Scott - we bought our Cougar from FLRV last Feb. I'm compiling a list of things I need them to look at before the warranty runs out. In 6 months we've put over 10k miles on the trailer and slept in it for 72 nights so it has had a good shake-down. Overall we are happy with it.
