hankaye -
Best that you forget about this concept of converting Imperial gallons to US gallons, and everything metric - including kilometers and litres. At our age (and yours) it is just too much for our brains to comprehend. There are far bigger things in life to worry about and fuss over. Miles per gallon. Kilometres per litre. Does it really matter? Drive from A to B. Fill it up. Pay the man. Be happy.

You said it best - as you always do. It is indeed, "a puzzlement".

Cheers and all that stuff.

We get 12-13 mpg towing
and about 17 around town.

At 145,000 miles - we still love our 7.3L diesel !

OK, I'll play. I have a 2008 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport double cab longbed 4WD pulling a Passport 238MLWE. It's only the first weekend out but it looks like about 10-11 towing. I'm always pretty steady at 18-19 unloaded. With mileage like that, I'm trying to remember what the advantage of the 4 liter V6 is over a half ton with a V8. Maybe a Tundra or F150 Eco Boost down the road.

I just traded my 2004 Chevy CC 4X4 duramax for a 2011 Ford F-250 4X4 CC with a 6.7 diesel.

With the duramax I got 9 to 10 mpg towing and 17 normal driving.

With the Ford I get 11.5 to 12.5 towing and 21.5 normal driving.
