We went to stay in a B&B in Moulton a few years ago and it looked like the whole town was running on electrical extension cords. Guess the folks were concerned that the fracking was cracking foundations in town. I didn't know what the "cords" were but they were for sensing vibration. The whole area was full of worker's temp buildings turning into a little community. We don't have much drilling up in the Hill Country.

This area is filled with fracking operations, wells, pipelines, HUGE underground storage vaults to store crude and pumping stations/collection stations in a grid that runs nearly everywhere on state land. Much of it is owned/managed by a Canadian petroleum company. Anyway, about 5 years ago, there were wires running in every direction, covering most of the state forest lands in the area. They were red "extension cord type wires" that were run in squares, about 1/8 mile apart and criss-crossing nearly everything. Some were underwater as lakes didn't stop their grid....
We were told they were part of a seismic mapping study that was being conducted to locate pockets of oil in the underlying bedrock structure. About 6 or 8 months later, it all seemed to disappear in about 3 or 4 days.

That's logical George. We're in Mexico, PA (Buttonwood CG) and bought deisel yesterday. No issues. Prices were around $6.29/gal before any discounts. Found a Sheetz station with deisel @ 6.09/ gal and filled up there.

Danny, Careful where you do that. Some good old boy judge may just lock you up and throw away the key. Your Ram is fast but you can't out-run the cops while towing the Monty. FYI moderator's perks do not include bail.

I'm crushed! But then again, if it's like it was when I lived in those parts maybe 47 years ago, yes, there are some good ole' boy judges that probably won't think of me as a "home boy". And the perks? Where did the perks go???

Every Morning when I get up I check the TSD App to see what prices are doing along our planned routes. I've noticed over the past couple of weeks that diesel prices have stabilized (at least at the ones that accept the card) and in many cases have gone down. Hopefully this trend continues.

Just saw this tidbit:
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is preparing to cite the United States’ largest oil field for violating ozone pollution standards, a move that will threaten the end of oil and gas production in the region.
According to the Texas Governor’s Office, the proposed regulations will directly affect the Permian Basin, the largest oil field in the United States, accounting for 95,000,000 gallons of gasoline per day or 40% of the oil produced domestically.

well that seems like a peculiar way to deal with high fuel prices….sorta like OSHA banning the use of fire hoses during wildfire season

Probably a certain political party's design. Painting us all into a corner to force electric vehicles on us. You can't have it both ways folks! Gotta have fuel to produce energy. And yes, fuel burns! Causes pollution to varying degrees. I'm also wondering if we DO in fact have a DEF shortage, will the government allow trucks to disable the system(s) or modify them so trucks can still run and make deliveries?! Or will they just let us all starve to death?!

"you guys hit me with this" isn't me or anyone on this forum. It is the EPA. My gut tells me this will be challenged in court but I am not responsible for what a court does either. I posted because over 40 percent of US oil production cut off will affect fuel supplies and not to start a conspiracy or ruin your trip. We are all in the same boat as far as prices and availability go so don't take these posts as a personal message for you.

Just another perfect example of that group of folks that have no clue cutting off their noses to spite their face!
Where do these people think electricity comes from? Where do they think the lithium for those batteries come from or what's used to dig it up?
None of it comes from a shelf a Walmart!

You mean chicken parts don't grow on styrofoam trays wrapped in cellophane??? Breast and wing or "running gear" ????
Hamburger doesn't come from the "grinder on the back of a methane producing cow" ??? And, that they actually have to kill a cow for us to eat beef ???? Wholly cow !!!! "pun intended"....
And catfish filets aren't grown by farmers in cold climates so they come frozen in packages from the environment ????
Whoda thunk !!!!!!!!!!!!
