Shower Door frame

Hey everyone,
Wondering if any has run into this before and how they fixed. Our shower door outer frame has dropped and the outside edge drags on the lower frame. When measured corner to corner it is apparent that the door frame is out of square around the glass. Has anyone used a long clamp to gently move the frame back to square or is there another fix for it?
Thanks!

If you can remove the door, I would not risk breaking the glass and instead take it to a window and glass shop to have is disassembled and put back together. They can use a better seal material that will keep it square.

Before doing anything, double check the level of your camper, and how much stress you are putting on your stabilizer jacks. If the door is dragging, it's probably because the frame is flexing and the walls are moving slightly. It's exactly the same thing when your entry door drags because one jack is forcing a corner of the camper upward and the others are not as tight, causing the frame to flex.

So, before tearing things apart, raise all your stabilizer jacks, or your electric jacks and see if the door still drags. Then if it does not, experiment with each jack until you can get them adjusted just right. After a few times, you'll know exactly how tight they have to be.

Is the door frame itself square. Using a carpenter's square? Then, is the frame square to the walls? Then, square to the shower basin?

Was the door correct at one time? and did this just happen? and are there any screws loose on the shower door hinges itself?

I know, lots of questions, .... just trying to figure out what caused this to begin with.

If everything is square, and this happened recently, I think the door frame itself has weakened and the shear weight of the glass is causing the door frame itself to sag. There might not be anything wrong with non door sections of the shower.

Yah…looks like everything is original and the shower door opening is square. The trailer is new to us and the previous owner said it had been like this for awhile. They just lifted the door when closing so it didn’t drag on the lower sill. Looks like the metal frame around the glass has moved and the door metal surrounding the glass door is now a parallelogram…

Well, you have several options if the door itself is sagging.

You can remove it and just hang a curtain across the opening. I removed our 3 section sliding glass doors just a few weeks ago because we got tired of them slipping and falling. I used a bathtub tension bar and hung a shower curtain. Much easier and less costly way to go.

You can also add a wire brace, from upper right corner to lower left corner. You'll need a cable wire, a turn buckle and some way to attach the wire to both corners of the door.

You can square up the frame, then drill small holes at each corner and put in flat L-braces at each corner. Be careful to not drill through the glass or try to insert a screw through the glass. So, drill carefully. When done, a spot of spray paint on each one and no one will ever notice they are there.

Or....

You can take the door frame to a shop and have them reinforce the frame. They will probably strengthen each corner in a similar way, with L-braces, or build a whole new frame for you.

If it were mine, I try the flat L-braces on each corner.

Good luck.

Looking like this isn’t a common issue…thanks for the input. I’ll call around to the local glass shops and get some input from the guys the deal with this stuff all the time.
Cheers guys…
