Cougar 29RLI in KS

New to Keystone. Just bought a 2022 Cougar RLI. Looking forward to warmer weather to get it out. Pulling with a 2022 Ford F-250 with the 7.3l engine and 3.55 rear end. Using an Andersen ultimate hitch. We had a 2015 Jayco Whitehawk 32DSBH I pulled with an F150 Ecoboost. This past December, our storage lot got hit by a hailstorm - baseball to softball sized hail. Trailer was totaled so we upgraded a little sooner than planned. Before the Whitehawk, we had a 1999 Jayco 24’ Heritage popup and a 1977 tiny Viking pop up. And of course before that we were in a tent. Looking forward to learning from the veterans on here and hopefully contributing from my experiences.

Welcome aboard! I also use the Andersen hitch and really enjoy it. However, something to be aware of is Keystone/Lippert's updated frame warranty which disallows the Andersen hitch as well as any other hitch that utilizes a pin/gooseneck adapter. The only exception is the Lippert Goose Box. And, of course, any standard 5th wheel hitch.

Just a heads up to help protect your warranty.

Hail

The hail blew out a window and put multiple baseball sized holes in both skylights. Dented the TV antenna and made dents in the plywood under the roof membrane. The skirt looked like somebody went at it with a hammer. Surprisingly, the air conditioner was spared.

It’s my understanding Andersen carries a $5 million insurance policy to cover customer’s frames in lieu of Lippert. I’d feel even better being listed as an additional insured and get a copy of the certificate of insurance.

You need to do some in depth due diligence on the above. I wouldn't hang my hat on the Andersen warranty...and I own one. I believe you will find some past issues by owners that were denied by the RV manufacturer and not covered by Andersen as well. They use a "3rd party" to verify that their product was the cause.....you know how that goes. Keystone AND Andersen deny responsibility on many of the situations I've read about.

I fully suspect that the failures I've seen/read about have been Keystone failures but once they deny it, then it's kicked to Andersen, the passing of the buck begins.

What storage lot were you stored in. We keep ours at Hillsdale.
