Relay For Fuel Pump

Problem is i have tested everything going to Onan Generator. Fuel supply, new fuel pump n filter, cleaned carb (no gumming). So the fuel pump will run for about 2 seconds before it quits no matter how long you hold the prime button in and the generator doesnt get enough gas to even fill the float bowl. After about 10-15 minutes you can engage the prime again and it will engage for about another 2 seconds then stop. If i hook up directly to the fuel pump wires from the battery it will run until i disengage the power and the generator will run. So i believe it has to be some type of relay switch that is bad. I havent attempted the wiring system yet in case someone might have another idea of where it might be or it might be something else. Any help will be appreciated. I have a 2015 Fuzion 371 toy hauler. Yes the generator did work before. It wouldnt work after our last trip and plugs are good.. Nothing unusal happened on the trip home either. Yes, plenty of gas full tank, spark plug wires are connected.

Not an expert on those generators but some generators have a solenoid at the bottom of the float bowl... it has a pin that sticks in the main jet until it gets an electrical signal (starter switch wired in parallel). This pin is spring loaded and can stick. This system is really not great but if you have a solenoid (about a one inch cylinder below the float bowl) you can try cleaning the pin to ensure it moves up and down and can put 12V to the electrical leads to see that it actuates. If you don't have that solenoid and the main jet lies in the bottom of the bowl, take the jet out and use a welders wire to poke through the holes and spray through with carb cleaner.

Have you tried removing the cover that holds the switch and jump the wires? It could be a bad rocker switch.
