2018 29RKS battery drain

Good afternoon all,
Has anyone had an issue with the main battery losing voltage with the master disconnected? I winterized the rig and when I went to retract the slides they were slow so I got a volt meter and found the battery was down to 11.0 volts with shore power applied. This battery is less than a year old so I disconnected the battery with the master switch and removed shore power charged the battery with my charger till it was up to 12.5 volts and called it a night. Came out this morning and voltage had dropped to 11.5 volts.

So I'm wondering if there is a circuit still powered somewhere and it's bleeding it down. Also with 30 amp plugged in shouldn't the battery charge also?

Thank you in advance,
Ron

Ron, your battery will drain even if the disconnect switch is turned off through parasitic draws like the CO2 detector, propane detector, and even the radio. The only way to truly shut off everything is to disconnect the battery or install a disconnect to the negative battery cable.

As for charging batteries on shore power, your battery disconnect switch must be on for the converter to do its job and keep the batteries fully charged. You will need to check the water level in the batteries at least once a month and top off with distilled water. Good luck and safe travels!

Thank you I didn't even think about the CO detector. I'm bringing in the battery inside for the winter so I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks again

Ron,
If you charged the battery to 12.5 and it dropped to 11.5 overnight I'm thinking your battery might be toast!
If you have a hydrometer you can test the battery or easier yet, just take it to any auto parts store and have it tested.
It might be a good time to think about an upgrade to a couple of 6 volt batteries.
