random adhesive smears on floor and wall

We took delivery on a Keystone Cougar Trailer in Nov. of 2020, for a 2021 model. Nice flooring seems an upgrade from our prior Springdale. We have some spots of adhesive here and there, that are now collecting dirt on the floor. Also, one little smear on the bathroom wall is sticky, and a little discolored. I don't want to use something like Goop-off and ruin the finish on the floor or the soft texturing on the wall covering in the bathroom. Any suggestions???

We have those barn type doors in the bedroom and bathroom and when we picked up the new 5er we didn't close the bedroom one during inspection. The first time we did close it there was a thin line of of adhesive/glue that ran from the ceiling almost to the floor behind the sliding door. I had some Goo-Be-Gone and used that to take the adhesive/glue off. It took it right off there was no visible damage to the finish on the wall.

Thanks so much Rick. I'll be stopping at Ace to get me some Goo-b-gone. I understand it is a little kinder to vinyl's than Goop-off. There are some corner's on the floor where I can test it on the flooring as well. Of course, where the spots are on the flooring are right out in the traffic paths.

I use Naphtha to remove residue from decals and such as it won't hurt the sides of your trailer or probably your flooring and works a lot better than Goo-B-Gone for these purposes. I had a trailer where the PO had a shop "seal" the trailer and they used non-self leveling Dicor around the windows which ran down the sides of the trailer when it sat in the sun. I used Naphtha to clean this mess effectively.

Thanks, I'm getting an education here. I had actually never heard of Naptha, so I looked it up. Looks like I can get some at Ace Hardware. Sounds like a useful tool to have around.

Spray with WD-40, let it sit for a few moments ... wipe it right off.

Well, I do have WD40 around. I might try that first before I go by some other stuff. I've used that for pitch on my shoes, would probably work great on the floor.

I have used WD-40 to remove glue residue from stickers and small things but in my case the adhesive that was on the wall was pretty thick not sure if WD-40 would have removed it.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I did get a bottle of Goo-B-Gone, and it worked great on both the flooring and wall. I truly think some of the stuff on the floor was pitch, versus adhesive from factory, from a location we camp at that always leaves my dogs paws with a bit, and we no doubt tracked in. Anyway, worked quickly, leaving a little oily looking smear around it, but that was quickly cleaned up with a spritz of windex and papertowel. Problem solved. Thanks for the participation in this forum.....a real help.
