How do you like it so far?
Thanks
I’m very happy with this truck so far. GM did right with the 6 speed transmission and 3.73 gears. I’m not sure how many used 6.6 liter gasser out there but even new ones are hard to fine. Don’t get me wrong though, I like Diesel engine but for now I don’t need it for my application. So I’m keeping this truck for a while until I upgrade to a bigger camper of course.

Good luck with your quest to buy used 6.6 gasser Chevy.

A 2014 GMC 1500 SLT with the 6.2 LS, MAX trailering package and ITBCS. Standard bed, AirLift 5000 airbags added and the Curt 5th wheel installation system. I'm in Montana, mountain passes be damned this combo is the most comfortable I've ever had. Just did 1600 miles with it through Utah, Idaho and Montana. Weight police be damned, know your driving limits and let the truck do its job. That ain't no 2K hitch weight. Not if you're loading correctly. Have fun, don't overdrive the truck. Cheers!
Bad advice all around IMO
Bet it pulls like a dream at 80mph also

We had the dually as we used to have a 17K fiver to haul around.

I understand that the Keystone stats on weights might vary a little at times but a fully loaded (2370 carrying capacity) and 10k gvw with a pin weight of 1490 seems a tad light (14.9% - bumper pull territory)?? Particularly when an empty 25res per Keystone has a pin weight of 1505? Maybe those airbags are doing some "stuff".

As far as your prior post stating "weight police be damned", you might read the entire thread and see where those comments were directed....not to the OP.

Danny, looking at the floorplan of the 25RES I can see how the pin weight would drop with careful loading... almost EVERYTHING is behind the axles..

Dar and I would probably top the pin weight out at 2300 or better because she packs every shoe she ever owned and enough wash clothes and towels for a month... Then I load the basement with 500 pounds of tools, spares, and ladder, not to mention the 30 foot 50 amp extension cord, grill and fishing tackle...

But I can see how it could be done..

Thank the stars that I don't have to do it... but yeah

I can see how it could be done but, in my mind....why? If I couldn't fill the pass thru and storage compartments with "stuff" that I like to use why would I go anywhere? Leave the cookers at home? Blasphemy!! And then there's DW; she doesn't pack 38 pairs of shoes but I DO load umpteen pounds of crafting tools and materials......

I think that fella said, "weight police be damned". Enough of that guy as he is a little hostile for my taste and full of goober as far as his pin weight claims.

I'd like to ride in that rig to how it REALLY handles. On second thought, no I wouldn't. I value my life too much and figure I've about run out of "when I was young and did ____ stupid thing thankfully I didn't get killed".

While it’s not the best example, it does show that Ford dealer mechanics are looking for reasons that something wouldn’t be covered by factory warranty if used for the wrong application. This particular truck was already out of warranty but I know that some mechanics take on a sort of “ detective role” when they are diagnosing because it makes their job more interesting and everyone likes to solve a mystery.
With the new Ford payload software “ onboard scales” I’m sure they can use that to deny claims when necessary

I am lost here, 2020 3/4 ton gas, 10,000# GVWR 5er and you need Timbrens?

Before we got our 2016 Ram 3500 DRW, we towed the same 5er with a 2,700# pin with a 2001 Ram 2500 CTD with a 8,800# GVWR, I was 1,700# over GVWR and about 200# below the rear axle rating, and didn't need any extra support for the rear axle. It towed with the rear still a bit higher than the front.

You have good point about my Timbrens. I may have installed them pre-maturely because without them the ride feel of my 5ver was smoother than when I installed the Timbrens. Now it's a bit bumpy on the highway that is because the bump stop only has 1 inch of travel. One advantage I can feel is the better stability of the camper when towing especially on curvy roads. I may be removing it on my next trip to feel and see the difference when fully loaded. They are easy to install and remove anyway.
