Just so you know, the "artic", "polar", "4 seasons" means the underneath is covered with coroplast (plastic cardboard) with a piece of foil bubble wrap (reflectix type material), very little more weather proof than any other rv.
To answer your question though, you must run the furnace as it usually has a small duct blowing into that covered underbelly to aid in keeping tanks/plumbing from freezing. If you're in fact in "Artic" conditions expect things to be frozen, have lots of propane available & a couple portable heaters to stay warm.
Same in the summer, any rv over about 30' should be mandatory to have 2 acs to try to keep it cool high temps.
Another of the industries sales hype is "1/2 ton towable", very few of those are in fact towable by a 1/2 ton truck, too heavy.

Yeah, I remember when we got our 2002 F250 with the 7.3 the salesman told us we have enough truck to haul anything on the lot. Really, lol??

Travelin T- you’re spot-on with the 2nd AC and the 1/2 Ton towable. When we bought our 2015 316RL new we had no idea what we were doing and only had a 2010 Ford 150. Of course the salesmen said we would be fine. The Madien voyage was SouthEast GA to Fort Benning in Western Ga and it scared the heck out of us! The following month we had a 2013 F250 Deisel and haven’t had a problem sense. It also only had one A/C and when we found out we were moving to El Paso, we installed the second A/C ourselves and wish we would have done it when we first bought it! What a difference! Our next phase is to insult the belly (since we’re going to hold onto it for another 4-5 years) using some of Geo’s tips and techniques.
But to Kev1450’s question- if you have prolonged exposure to below freezing temps (say2-3 days) in which the afternoon high doesn’t break above 32degrees, expect your pipes to freeze. I experienced below freezing temps at night in GA (back in in’15-‘17) but the days would get into the low 40s so we were ok. We went the first winter( ‘15-‘16) without winterizing and I think we got lucky (we didn’t know better) since nothing froze but we did run the furnace and fireplace on those cold nights. We had it plugged in to the house in our backyard then. The second winter we blew out the lines and used the rv antifreeze in the traps (not the lines). Plus we ran the furnace . Here In El Paso we have it in storage and we blow out the lines and put stuff in the traps but I found it stays in a sustained freezing here longer than in GA (due to elevation) and haven’t seen a problem yet.
Long-winded story to say I agree with TT and say if Chesterville gets sustained freezing , be prepared for frozen pipes! Good luck and let us know how it goes!
