New Camper Cover

I am thinking of purchasing a cover for my new fifth wheel with the winter months coming. There are a lot of pros and cons about using a cover and potential damage. Any thoughts on this topic to help me decide?

We bought one from amazon 350-400 range efo ( every flipping option) zippers Velcro straps and who knows what else. cause storage here they dictate when you put it in and when you take it out. I’m paying the neighbors to store it in the barn this year. Covers have their place hunt not on my camper.

I would suggest a search. There are many, many conversations about trailer covers that have taken place. I'm sure someone will chime in but a search might shed a little light for you.

We venture into Calgary a few times during winter months and there are a lot of large RV dealers in the area. None of them have the inventory covered. We get lots of snow and freeze/thaw cycles (chinook winds). YMMV

Will never again put a cover on any of my trailers.

We stored ours over in the valley. They get almost zero snow, just rain.

Anyway, just enough wind to make the cover flap and it wore holes in the roof. Was super mad/bummed.

We have always covered in the winter, with no problems. We use an ADCO All Climate + wind. We keep the trailer clean and the cover tight with additional bungies and alligator clips.

We are looking to find a better cover for the rest of the year. After 2 hail damaged roofs in 4 years, we are looking for something more substantial. We have typically only covered the camper in the winter with the ADCO cover. The only other real option I find seems to be down under. . . http://www.stormcovers.com.au/

I've used the Adco All Climate +Wind for the last 2 winters. Zero problems. Just make sure it's not a windy day when you want to install it.

rule of thumb, don't waste your money.

trailers are built to be outside, let it be. and you can cause a lot of secondary issues covering the trailer up.

Will never use a cover on any rv that I own. I think they do more damage then they do good.
