Comming to Alaska this summer?
I have been blessed to live and work in this great state. We are planning our summer excursions and I would like to see any of you that are willing to take the trip up here if our paths cross. I have yet to order a set of stickers for the Tumble Weed but am planning to have them on by the time we start camping.
For Alaska, the 100 days of summer is good to plan around (Memorial Day-Labor Day).
So for Memorial Day weekend we will be in Seward AK and staying at the at the city camp ground on the beach.

Fourth of July we will be heading north into the interior Denali Park, Fairbanks and Tok are defanitly stops we will be making I will try to up date this thread as time gets close.

Sounds like fun but, that's quite a stretch from Texas with three elementary age girls and a full time job. Good luck.

Understood, not to sound crass but "I've Been there Done That" (3 elementary girls and full time job) Still work full time but girls are grown and that wife is gone. Spend all the time you can with them cause they grow up quick.

I do! We camp at least once a month and I try to keep them involved in my projects with me.

Well we had been planning an Alaska trip this summer after family reunion at Snow Mountain Ranch (south of RMNP), but we hope to be unable to do so. This sounds strange, but the reason we would be unable to go would be that my wife would be accepted for a drug trial for PSP (somewhat like parkinsons) at U of Chicago. We go for the screening interview Friday and if accepted will have to go to Chicago every month for treatment for at least a year. So we will give it a try in a year or two. We will do some shorter trips such as Arizona, NM, and Texas this spring and the Carolinas in June but will not be away from home more that a few weeks at a time.
I learn a lot reading all your posts.

I planned to. Had a kitchen pass and even bought a Milepost.
Then the daughter said: Guess what, we're having a baby, due June 30. Then the son says 5 seconds later: Guess what, we're having a baby too, due July 1.
Maybe next year.

Time seems to be the great equalizer for an Alaska trip as well as family commitments. I understand all of that. I got the opportunity to work a lot more between 1FEB and 17MAY like working 13 of those 15 weeks I will post when I have time.

Well time has gone by and we are now 8 days into May. The plan is still the same for us. will probably be down the night of the 24th and leave the 28th. I have yet to get stickers for the Tumbleweed. I am getting excited for camping and want to do the pantry modification before we embark on this first trip of the season. Still need to de-winterize when I get home from work next week.
