Generator issue or maybe my fault

Rig is a 2014 Fusion 342 has Onan 5500.
Ive had the rig for 1 year. Gen has 50 hrs on the clock as of now.
Fresh fuel and I always add Stable when I fuel.
New battery in rig and it had a full charge when we left
We were in the desert dry camping this weekend. Weather was cool so there was no reason to run A/C. I had the water heater and fridge on Propane.
Most of our time was spent outside by the fire.
I had the Generator running but there was no load on it. After about 1 hour it shut down and gave error code 14. (Frequency overload, unable to maintain)
So with all this and before I set up appointments for warranty. Was this my fault for not have a load on it? I know the battery charger put a load on it but once the battery reaches full that shuts down as well. I checked the charge level indicator and it had a full charge.
Please advise

Without a response I contacted my Dealer and was referred to the local Cummins shop. According to them, these gens should run fine with no load and not shut down unless you shut it down. Cummins has the rig now. I will update findings

Yes it should stay running no matter if there is a load or not. I have had the same problem with mine and turned out it was the fuel pump. I have replaced it three times since the rig was new. And of course none of them where under warranty. Pretty sad considering the generator has less than 25 hours on it.

If you dig, you can get the same fuel pump without the Onan "brand" on it via Amazon, I think it's about 60% of the cost.. Part number - not off the top of my head.

Luckily mine was under warranty. I took it to the Cummins shop this week. They said this is not uncommon. The frequency setting was set too high at the Factory. So they adjusted it to the correct settings. The only way to correct this is with proper meters and adjusters

I think that means that it was running over (or under) rpm. The meter you need is a digital volt meter that can do AC frequency. Never had to adjust one myself, but at least in that case the code 14 makes sense!
